AWSD - Screen adjustments besides the ones in the coin door.

Post by neorichieb1971 »

I got my AWSD running last night for the first time. I don't mind how the scan lines are done but I think the image is really soft. There is clarity, but its soft to the point of losing vibrancy, something I like in my shmups.

So is there any other ways to deal with this?

When I asked the question about the XRGB2 possibly displaying a better image for 15khz conversion. I can honestly say on my PC monitor the XRGB2 does a better job for 15khz games. I can't imagine how I would get an XRGB2 to work with a PCB in my cab though.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Try adjusting the focus knob on the monitor PCB flyback if you are not seeing pixels razor sharp.

As for the XRGB2 comment, I don't see how upscanning and displaying at 31khz on the same tube monitor which can already display 15khz native would look any better.
