DSUB15 pinout for arcade monitors

Post by GaijinPunch »

Is there some type of standard pinout for arcade monitors? I have a trisynch monitor which has a DSUB15 connection. I've got a DSUB->21 Pin RGB converter to use it w/ my consoles & super gun, but it doesn't tap the audio. I want a converter which will tap dat ass (audio wise, anyway), but want to confirm the pinout. Not sure what type of monitor it is, other than it came out of a Windy2. The panel has Toshiba written on it, but that could've been gutted from another one.

your going to need to tap the audio coming out of the consoles/supergun though the av/sound leads .. surely tap the sound out of the scart lead rather than the dsub??
or am i confused?

Horribly.

There is no audio to tap on the DSUB part.... it comes out of the consoles via the 21-pin RGB cable. I actually don't need such a cable for my super gun, DC, or MAME setup as they all have separate audio out. My PS2 and Saturn, do not.

Not everyone at once, please.

If it's a tri-sync monitor providing a 15pin connection, it's going to be the standard VGA pinout.

You may also have issues with some of the sync put out by consoles, but it depends on the monitor.

Run PS2 and Saturn through a scart splitter w/ separate audio out.

That's the easiest solution I can come up with.

or you could wire up a female rgb connector to another male one and just add a jack from the audio pins instead of wiring up the sound to the male rgb connector..
