Doujinn games history and titles

Hello,
I'd like to know more about Doujinn games and the freeware that some companies like Vector,Dark as hell games,etc put out.Where can i find more games to download as well.How long have Japanese game companies being doing this?I never even knew it exsisted,i'm just floored that i can play some of my favorite type/style of games right from the companies that make them.Thanks to all who can give me any killer games like Pysche Metal:The bleeding that game is king!!! Thanks for any links/info provided.Take care.

i don't think vector is a game company, it's just a japanese hosting site, kinda like filefront is in the us

Everyone knows Yakouga 4 is the best doujin shmup.

Maybe. I never got past the second level, tho. Awesome scoring system(s).

Since the PC88 days pretty much...

PC88 and PC98 emulation is reserved for only the awesomest of people.
