What is expected for the Feb. '08 AOU show shmup-wise?

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

Any new news regarding arcade shmup titles at the upcoming Japanese AOU 2008 show in February?

It sucked that such American arcade/pinball trade shows such as the AMOA or the AAMA shows were only open to those whom worked in the USA arcade amusement industry and not the general public...it's cool that such AOU/TGS shows are open to the general public. ^_~

In the past, some special arcade game/pinball premires would make their big debut at the California Extreme shows. Back in August of 1999, Williams showed off their proto Star Wars Episode 1 Pinball 2000 games and even offered two protos of them for sale to the tune of $4,400 USD direct from Williams. I dunno if there were any takers though..... ^_~

Isn't Illvelo going to be there?
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Well, there's the sequel to Ketsui, the fifth installment in the DDP series and a new IP with military design with a soundtrack by Namiki...
At least I hope so...

Are you talking about that Ketsui for the DS or a proper Arcade Ketsui?

There are only three games that i know of for sure and one that's a potential that is supposed to be shown off there:

G. Rev's Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta/Mamonoro and Senko no Ronde 2

Milestone's Illvelo/Illmatic Envelope

These three games are all supposed to be part of the Sega booth.

AMI has an "unannounced game" being revealed at the show, so this may be the new Cave shooter that popped up as a rumor a couple of months ago. It may also be a hentai mahjongg game though, so i wouldn't get your hopes up yet.

Outside of that, I'm not aware of any others, but would gladly be corrected if someone knows of any more.

These are the only two I care about anyway. I'd like to see anything about Senko 2 and about Mamonoro, I saw some youtube before, and honestly, I want to see if maybe they've improved it a lot. I don't see how former Seibu Kaihatsu people and G.Rev can team up to make a bad game, but I guess it could very well happen. :?
