R-Type Final Question

Post by NAVVARR »

This might have a very obvious answer- but i'm going to ask it anyway...

I've been playing R-Type Final and i'm unlocking ships- got about 40+ now out of 101.

Anyway- i notice that some ships are passwork protected- how do you get the passwords? -i mean legitimately- if you didn't just google for the cheats/ solutions etc etc

Does the game give you the passwords at some point? -

That's what I'd like to know as well. I don't remember the game ever giving me any passwords at any point. I heard that there were some codes or something printed on the japanese game box covers... Too bad everyone seems to be too busy to scan and share them.

Damn, there was a post on GameFAQs a while ago that explained this, but I don't remember what the reason was. Maybe MathU would know.

I do know the library entry for a password-protected ship that you haven't unlocked talks about checking a magazine and website for clues.

You shouldn't feel guilty about looking up the passwords, though. They're just an additional requirement on top of the other requirements for those four ships, so you still have to earn them.

I remember getting the codes for the JP version off of GameFAQs someplace...there's no way that someone didn't post the US versions up there someplace as well.

They're online somewhere, both the US and Japan password lists are on Gamefaqs I think. The PAL version uses the Japanese passwords too if I recall.

i've got them- but i was just curious as to how you'd get them if the internet never existed and you had to play the game til you'd unlocked them.

You mean like in FFXII how there's no clue whatsoever to not open certain chests on a certain beach full of chests and if you do you screw yourself over into getting a weapon you never knew about in the first place?
