So, I haven't played Ikaruga for years. I fancy returning to it, but would be playing my Gamecube version on my Wii. So, does the the Wii Hori stick work with Gamecube games?
That is all!
Searched to death and couldn't find this, which seemed surprising...
Though I'm sure I might be corrected!

Or pick up a Hori Fighting Stick GC for arcade joystick fun!
Or the next best alternative is to get a Hori Fighting Stick GC -- which is a classic Hori arcade stick controller with generic Hori arcade joystick and generic Hori push buttons installed for use with both the Gamecube and Wii consoles...
This particular Hori Fighting Stick GC came in two different flavors: the initial released Soul Calibur II version and the secondary released purple colored version -- take your pick. Sadly, Hori did not officially distribute this particular Hori Fighting Stick GC for the USA Gamecube market but only for Japan and Asian countries instead...
By further modding with Sanwa or Seimitsu arcade parts, you'd have a world-class Gamecube arcade stick... ^_~

I tried connecting my HRAP2 with an adapter that I had tested as working with my gamecube, but it didn't work with my Wii when running in gamecube mode. I don't remember the brand name of my adapter but it also can do PS2->XBOX.MR_Soren wrote:However, you can use a PS2 stick and a GCN adapter. That's how I play Ikaruga with my HRAP2.
Does the main plastic block of the converter look something like a miniature original Xbox? EDIT: Or was it Gamecube purple? They seem the most popular two converters of this kind.dmauro wrote:I tried connecting my HRAP2 with an adapter that I had tested as working with my gamecube, but it didn't work with my Wii when running in gamecube mode. I've got a Gemini PS2->GC/XBOX converter (this thing). HRAP->Xbox works fine, PSX pad->GC works fine. I don't believe I've tested HRAP->GC (Wii playing GC games), but there shouldn't be a problem. I'm impressed with the construction overall, and it has a lifetime warranty.
According to my order history that's the adapter I bought. It doesn't look like the one in the photo, though - it's a small, flat box with the Xbox and GC cables coming out directly.

I don't have a Wii, I just assumed it should work. I have that adapter, but never removed it from the package because I also have the purple adapter and it works perfect on the cube.dmauro wrote:I tried connecting my HRAP2 with an adapter that I had tested as working with my gamecube, but it didn't work with my Wii when running in gamecube mode. I'll post here again when I have a Wii I can test on.
