PC shooters similar to Psyvariar??....
Anything on Shootthecore, since none of the arcade games have been emulated, that's similar to this series?

That's the one.BulletMagnet wrote:There is that one doujin (one of Kenta Cho's, I think) which contains "modes" with gameplay similar to several commercial shmups, Psyvariar included...rRootage, was it, or am I getting the names confused?
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I play Psyvariar 2 on NullDC. Runs great, just a few graphical glitches but nothing at all major.
The Kenta Cho one is Rrootage, it has a Psyvariar mode, but it's really nothing like the actual game. The only similarity is the spinning/shield mechanic. The levels aren't designed around buzzing and shielding like it is in Psyvariar, and there's no shield ramming or anything either.

@dave4shmups
You might also try Sylph Wind - it's similar to Psyvariar and quite pretty, though not finished yet.

Btw, doesn't nulldc also work with images/isos?
