problem with ESPrade PCB

Post by professor ganson »

Just got it in the mail today and the picture is so wavy it's incomprehensible-- a complete mess. I know it's not my supergun, which is a brand new Sigma that works perfectly. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Hey Todd,

Do you use the RGB, composite or s-video out ? If you use composite or S-Video, it can be a problem with your TV. Some TVs have problems to sync correctly with the Cave games because of their weird sync signal, try on another TV if you have one.

I'm using composite-- I'll try a different tv. Thanks!

One of my TVs can't sync properly with my s-video modded AES nor any of my Cave PCBs but everything works perfectly on my Sony Wega TV.

Btw, you really should use the S-Video or RGB out, the picture is WAY better, trust me.

Yeah, definitely get an S-video cable, it's a really big difference.

Ha, changing to a different tv worked! Huge thanks, Alien Soldier. Only problem is that the tv it worked on is one that I cannot tate. :( So basically right now I can't play this board.

Thanks for the advice also about S-video/component. Does anyone happen to know how to order a cable for a Sigma supergun? Just talk to GP?

Yeah, he's probably your only hope. There is no component video output on a Sigma though, just S-video (and RGB of course, if you have an RGB TV).
