XRGB2+ and PGM/SH3 games

Post by Geezer »

Has anyone here tried an XRGB2+ with any of Cave's PGM or SH3 games? How was your experience with it?

Cool, thank you :)

I missed out on one that went for 10k a few days ago and one that went for a BIN of 15k today. If I'm patient I should be able to get a good deal.

Oops sorry, looks like I mis-spoke. I have both an XRGB2 and XRGB2+. Its the XRGB2 that works flawlessly on any Cave board when you flip the PCB switch. The 2+ does not have this switch, and as such the video comes out with overly saturated colors. I've herd you can mod a scart cable with resistors on the R/G/B lines to bring the line voltage down to .7 and it should look fine. I plan to do this mod sometime soon and post some side-by-side comparisons on my blog.

could u just adjust the color settings ect for pcbs on a 2+?

I have a 2+ but use my pcbs on a rgb monitor.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Yes, no problem. You can adjust each color (R, G, B) individually with the X-RGB 2+.

Yes you can adjust the colors, but I don't think that will fixed the saturation from the high rgb pcb voltage. Maybe I'm wrong. I won't have any free time to check this out for a couple weeks.

it wouldn't on megadrive games in rgb.... had to add those resistors on the cable for it to be right.

Sorry you are right, I'm using the X-RGB 2+ with a Cave game (ESP Ra.De), but I also have resistors in the RGB cable of my supergun. So without the resistors you may have problems with the colors.
