if you clear the first loop of a 2 loop game, would you class that as a 1CC? i'm not saying clearing the first loop of a game isn't an achievement - it is - but are western players giving themselves a bit too much credit...? you see players mark their scores in the hi-score threads as "x,xxx, xxx - 1-ALL", but the in-game scoreboard will only shows it as a 1-5 or 1-6 etc. but if you were to meet the conditions for the 2nd loop, and died on 2-1, you wouldn't class it as a clear or a 1CC... if you see what i mean
I think clearing a game on default difficulty, no matter how many loops come after that, should count as 1CC. If 1-ALL is a legit clear, 2-* is that same legit clear + extra effort.

I have no clue why that matters at all ^^ What's with all this 1CC religion ? Why do you care if clearing the first loop of a 2 loops game can be called "1CC" or not ?

I would list that as a 1-all. If the game has 2 loops if you want a 1cc, you need to clear both loops. If the game has infinite loops, you can't 1cc it period.

Why bother worrying about whether the first loop is considered 1CC or not? Just play the damn game and if you consider clearing the first loop as 1CC, then good on you. Otherwise clearing 2 loops to get the "true" 1CC is just like what moozooh said: it's just clearing both loops plus the extra effort.
I personally don't care if I get 1-ALL or ALL-ing both loops to get 1CC achievement to be honest, because I don't have a lot of time to dedicate myself to competing for score to post in high scores thread or attempting to clear both loops if I can set my mind to it. If I get 1CC, all I can do is just pat myself on the back and add the completed game to my post in the 1CC thread in High Scores forum. That's it.

I agree with this, about the 1cc label. 1-3, 14, 3-8, 1-ALL, etc. says everything you need to know about completion. It's making a fuss over nothing, for the sake of once more degrading "western players." A+ thread.
maybe i'm not clear enough. i'm not asking "should you do this?", "is it classed like that?". i already have my own perspective, i'm just asking what other people's opinion are: is a 1-ALL the same as a 1CC? just a simple question. no need for anyone to throw their toys out the pram

The peopel who made the shmup have spoken.
So it's not a clear in Mushi Futari's Original or Maniac modes? You don't see a staff roll there if you clear the game on a credit (only in Ultra mode).
