Great news for fighting game fans

Post by Neon »

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-40- ... 0-k9n.html

Includes the following classical fighting games in one collection:

# Vampire: The Night Warriors (1994)
# Vampire Hunter: Dark Stalkers Revenge(1995)
# Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire(1997)
# Vampire Hunter 2: Dark Stalkers Revenge (1997)
# Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire(1997)

Each game will include the Arcade, Versus and Training Mode. There is also a new Art Gallery Mode, which includes over 190 artworks and promotional materials used in the series. The game will have PlayStation Network Adapter / Boardband Unit support.

 preordered.

Well, this probably isn't 'news,' first I've heard of it though  Please god please give us arcade perfect Street fighter alpha 3 next

Long shot, is there any way we could play this online over here? The lag would be terrible fighting japanese players but if we could fight each other...

This game was announced a couple of months back. It may have even be in the E3 lineup. Somehow, I got the feeling the game was coming to the US.

Are savior 2 and hunter 2 just remixes/re-tweaks of the original games? I've never heard of those.

I would think about ordering, but after the DC Vampire chronicles was so much LESS than the Saturn ports of those games, I'd be worried about the quality here.

In fact, it begs the question (assuming the savior 2 and hunter 2 are nothing special--I really don't know what they are)...what is the point of this set if you have the saturn since hunter and savior are perfectly ported here? (and available for cheap).

Training mode, artwork, online.

You could equally say "what's the point of getting them on saturn, they're perfectly ported on ps2" ;)

I'm sure this is cheaper than buying each individually on Saturn anyways.

Maybe... Vampire Hunter (jp) goes for $5 on ebay - maybe cheaper elsewehre. Vampire Savior isn't much more than $15 if you look around. Both are amazing on the Saturn though a compilation pack is certianly a good deal especially with 5 games! There was a time when I preferred the Vampire series to the Streetfighter series but I'm just too much of a SF nut to have let that go on for long (though I still play the Vampire games on a regular basis... and for some reason I actually prefer Vampire Hunter slightly to Vampire Savior).

Well again, the question I'm asking is IF they will be as good as the saturn versions. The DC version(s) of the Vampire games are WORSE than the Saturn. It seems that some reason these CPS2 games really suffer when they are brought over to newer systems.

I think the idea of a pack with all these games is really great, but I will definitely be waiting to see ps2 vs. saturn comparisons, given that this is no longer about whether the systems are capable of supporting the games but rather the care they put into properly emulating the games.

And I would still LOVE to know what CPS2 games all look better (cleaner sprites, brighter colors, etc.) on the Saturn than any other system. I still to this day do not get it.

Sorry, man, I thought you kept ahead of the news. And supposedly, the latest news on the site is that it has in-game HD copying. Yes, this probably means copying the whole disc to the HD...

Anyway, I'm afraid that I'm just not a big fan of the Vampire series. I'll definitely get the game anyway (after I wait for a possible US release) to support Capcom but I don't plan on playing the games to any competitive degree.

lol, I knew about it too when it was first announced ;) I just didn't know there were other 2D fighter fans here, whoo whoo.

Yeah, kickass compilation, but still...Capcom better not hack this job up like they did with everything in CFE.

Was a big fan of the Vampire series back in the day, but after playing Vampire Savior and Vampire Hunter on the Saturn..eh, they're merely good, nothing more to me. KOF 96 gets the most fightin playtime from me on the Satty.

Neon is like the last one to know . Even I knew this, and I have bad fame of knowing everything last.
