CPS2 suicide screen?

Hello,

My new Progear, with a new battery I'm told, just boots up to a plain orange screen (colour might be the RGB setting). Is this a suicide, or am I missing something.

I have it plugged in to a reliable supergun. I assume I don't need a harness as it isn't 6 button. Is that right? I have a harness but it is too small for the A board. Does the harness go in the B at the front if needed?
