When I was speaking about sales, I was talking about the over all console numbers. Nintendo sold 168,000 Wii's while Sony sold 53,000 PS3's and Microsoft sold 8,700 360's. Those are the numbers that developers can't ignore.
They might as well ignore them, because unless your name is "Nintendo", your games probably aren't going to sell well on the Wii.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if software sales on Wii are relatively low. Why? Cause probably 50% of all Wii buyer just grab the Wii Sports bundle and won't bother about any other game. Maybe they will end up getting Wii Fit eventually.

I hope there will be more good shooters coming for 360 and/or PS3. I just don't like the whole Wii idea very much, though I own all three consoles.

There's a lot of games that I downloaded on the VC that I never could get to work right with emulation. Gate of Thunder is a good example. Even Malc admits to having trouble with level 2 on Axelay when he wrote its xenocide review. Link. But those games work perfectly on the VC.

Considering the sales performance of Shikigami no Shiro 3 on the Xbox 360 compared to the Wii in Japan, I'm not sure if this is going to be the case.
Yeah, I saw that too. However Shiki 3 is only getting a Wii release in the US. (according to what's been announced thus far.)

The Japanese Wii version might continue selling longer because the system sells much better creating thousands of potential Shiki 3 Wii customers every day. I'm not convinced that week one sales are the final word.

Malc's review is probably a few years old. As far as I know Axelay is perfectly emulated by now...same goes for Gate of Thunder.

What about Gradius VI? (Gradius 6)
I remember reading an article almost 2 years ago, that it was supposed to be under development by Konami & Treasure for the SONY PS-3?!

That would be very damn exciting. I'd love to see that as a boxed retail PS3 title. Surely one day it will happen?

Gradius VI has allegedly been put on indefinite hold, but hopefully development will commence/resume after the PS3 installed base grows.

Nevermind, it sounds as if it was a misprint in a Japanese magazine, and Konami claims the game is going ahead as intended.

Cool.
I hope Gradius VI will be released in real disc media form and not via download service.

Well, if the Euro PAL SONY PS3 was in fact 100% backwards compatible with PS1/2 and could play imports of PS1/2 shooters, then I might have considered getting one.

But for now I'll stick to my home-modded PS-1 & PS-2 consoles.

I'm sure that nuisance will be solved once the PS3 is properly modded.

My PS3 is a PAL one and with recent downloadable upgrades seems a lot more backwards compatibility friendly. That said I use my de-bug PS3 all the time now, so I might just have forgotten how rubbish the PAL one is for BC, so don't quote me on it and go out and buy a PAL one!
