Getting Kaitei Daisensou (SS) to work
I just got a copy of Kaitei Daisensou (In The Hunt), and I can't get it to load. I've heard that it had a lot of problems with stuff like that, but had hoped that I might be lucky and get a copy that wasn't screwy. Unfortunately, I've tried probably fifty times already, and I've only gotten it to load twice: once, it stopped working after the CD intro; the second time it loaded just as I was turning it off and on again to give it another try, so I don't know if it would have worked then.
I've got a Japanese Saturn, so it's not the problem with it not working on foreign machines. The store I bought it from has a return policy, so I can take it back because it doesn't work. But I've got a few days before I have to return it, and I was hoping there might be some way to get this to work before I go back.
Anyone, is there anything to be done, or is this copy a lost cause?

AFAIK, the Japanese SS version does not work on most consoles with round buttons.

Are you talking about the domestic In the Hunt? I had the domestic version and it ran most of the time on my domestic Saturn. Then I gave my Saturn away and switched to my J-Saturn. In The Hunt worked very seldom on my J-Saturn with the converter cartridge. I picked up Kaitei Daisensou in Akihabara in 2006 and it works just fine on my Japanese Saturn, naturally.

Undamned is the leading English-speaking expert on the consolized UD-CPS2 because he's the one who made it.

I was told by NCSX that it was the japanese version will not work in a US console regardless of it being modded ect. Dunno if it's true ect.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

sorry to confuse the issue more:
Domestic In The Hunt was one of the first Saturn games I owned and played regularly. At some point I packed away the Saturn (US round button) in favor of another system, and some time later unpacked it and in a complete wtf moment In The Hunt would not load. It would get to the Kokopelli logo and then get stuck on a black screen. I don't recall if I ever got it to play then, but I know just a couple years ago I played it on the same system with no problem. Same disc, same system, plays fine, then won't play, then will play... maybe the game is possessed

its a bitch to get it to work on anything but a 1st gen jap saturn, and even if you do it will be so unstable actually playing it will be pretty useless.
youre better off getting a new copy, and afaik theres no change in appereance of the old and new printruns of jap KD
