My favourite cars are much more affordable than those.

Lotus Elise - less than $50000 on the road.

Image
This lightweight sportster does 0-60 in about 5 seconds. At only 1900lbs it can outperform cars with much more horsepower around a race track. Lotus Elise vs Ferrari F40 here -

http://www.cpdserver.com/elisetalk/video/elise1.wmv

The car I would buy today though would be the Noble M12 - $85000

Image

Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear takes the Noble for a spin and compares lap times to that of a Pagani Zonda and a Lamborghini Murchialgo (or however you spell it). The Noble does not win but it test day was in the rain and it was very wet. This video has some humour to it, I would recommend downloading it - 66mb.

http://www.1gracing.com/images/top-gear.wmv

The Noble uses a V6 Duratech Ford engine with a twin turbo. Does 0-60 in just over 3 seconds. With 360 hp on tap and only 2000lbs to shift, it goes like a rocket. There is no trunk though (Boot to those in the UK) and the US version is a kit car to get passed some federal regulations.

Best of British no doubt.

My fave car?

Probably the TRD 2000GT MR2 mk2 sw2020

Pity there are only 50 in exsistance.

Toyota took a £25 grand mr2 turbo, gave it to trd who spent 20 grand upgrading the car turned it into a god like ferrari look a like only more reliable.

Hey Akira what toyota celica do you like? the newer one or the older ones?

What Thunder Force said... although I prefer the older Type-S Zero to the newer Type-R. A shame I'll probably never be able to afford even a USDM NSX-T :(

I don't understand much of cars at all, but once I saw a Jaguar XJ-220 in a car fair here in Brazil.

I'll never forget that... that thing was the most amazing, beatiful vehicle I ever saw in my whole life.

Corvette by far. There's something just so retro, yet somehow futuristic about their appearance. I hope to own one someday (in my dreams)

My dad owned a green '73 stingray 'vette. The only ride I got in it was when he and mom took me home from the hospital. :P

He also sold his '69 camaro which my mom is still a little peeved at him for. But both cars went to good causes, impending expenses: house payment stuff, me and my siblings. heh :P

Alpha...thats an AMC(American Motor Comapny) Pacer(mid to late 70's) Otherwise known as "bubble cars". I'm sure that AMC's design staff back then consisted only of geeks, judging by other model's designs as well.
Look up AMC Gremlin, Javelin,Pacer, etc...It don't really get worse than the Pacer though... :?

I have many favorites...exotics,imports, hot rods. Hot Rods being my favorites for sure.
Aside from Chevelle's (like mine) I love 1967 Camaro's...like this one here.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 35642&rd=1

My dream Camaro would feature at least 450 HP with a six speed manual transmission.

BTW: You can view my Chevelle in the thread titled "Introducing the TwitchRod", here at Shmups.com.

Looks like I'm late to the party...both of my favorite cars have already been mentioned.

Lamborghini Countach: Not the LP500S model like in Space Harrier's pic (the Quattravalvole 5000 is the superior version of that body style anyway), but older varieties, like the early prototypes and spoilerless LP400, which don't look like they were attacked by a carbuncle dispenser.

Chevrolet Chevelle: My dad had a black '70 that he finally sold to a friend a few years back...the best American muscle.

Love the car I own. Always been a fan of T/A's, and f-bodies in general. Nothing beats the sound of a v8.

Landshark's Car!!

Landshark's car will do for me too 8) !

I own the car I've always wanted, but not wothout some sacrifice. Several years ago I saw that I had an opportunity to make a bit of money - if I put in the hours!
So, in the run up to buying the car, I put in 11hours per day work on two jobs. Absolutely NO social life, no girlfriend for that year, just missioning for THAT CAR.
I then bought it (2nd hand of course) and have been a proud owner for the last 7 years. Yes Landshark, nothing beats the roar of a V8.

Central London seems to be one of the few places in the World where the World's latest cars make their street debut. I'm looking forward to seeing/HEARING the new W16 Bugatti thrust its way down the street. I don't think its a pretty car, but the thought of 2 V8s placed side by side in a W16 with turbos is interesting to say the least. 255mph!
