It's THAT good.
If an old schooler like you can be converted by this game, that's a mighty accomplishment by Cave.

Anticipation points +5 to play this now. (But still looking forward to Homura more  )

That tune should appeal to Twitchdoctor dude, it sounds like one of the songs he posted with his band in the previous forum.

I want that CD too, it's kind of bad, cheesy stuff but since it's shooter-related it's ok. :)

Something's screwy about Watch Impress's creen-capture methods. Either the game is low resolution and it's giving them trouble because of that, or they hired some Photoshop-n00b intern to convert and post those images.

^^^ it looks like they used nearest-neighbor resizing or something

Looks the same to me except the Mushi captures are sharper.

Hohoho, I guess it wasn't Watch Impress that screwed up the shots, but Cave themselves, since they supplied the same ones to Gpara: http://www.gpara.com/comingsoon/mushihi ... /index.htm

Eek, I hope the final game doesn't end up looking like that...not even Cave's earliest stuff is that pixelly. Hope some better-looking shots appear closer to the release date...

I wouldn't worry - not everybody's got the whole screen-capture process down properly yet.

As jiji said, I think it's just poor screen capturing/poor photography. In the photo you can see the curved corners of the TATE'ed screen. It basically means they had someone stand in front of their tilted dev screen, take a somewhat unprofessional picture and then high-res'ed it up which makes it looks crappy and pixelated. Just my guess anyways. I don't see a huge difference between Mushi's visuals and Galuda's (in pictures and video anyways I have yet to play either :( ).

As a once video-game mag insider, I can confirm that the screenshots for previews are, 99% of times, provided by the game company itself. And yep, they upscale them in order to make them bigger for the media.

I'd go a bit further. This screenshots aren't, I'm pretty sure, from the PS2 version. If they were, some of them would be in 'yoko' mode.

what photo? if youre talking about the one in recaps post, looks like he just photoshopped/filtered it. hell it actually looks better than the shots they provided cause it cancelled out the crappy scaling they did to it.

Anyone ordering the limited edition copy that includes Princess Reko? It's only $10 more:

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-r-7 ... 0-oph.html

The figure--I presume--will look something like this:

A note to look at the 9 pictures on the middle/lower part of Play Asia's Mushihime ordering page, as for whatever reason, they seem to look at least somewhat better there. A few examples from play asia's site, same pics but looking smoother:

Anyone know if the "normal" version will have a different looking cover then the limited?. If so I might buy two copies of this game, just to show my support and because caves games usually have pretty coverart ;)

Yech! That SD shot looks worse than the port.

So as for Mushihimesama, I'm counting on the final game looking better than the screen shots.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Famitsu is now reporting that there will be an arrange mode in teh PS2 port, not found in the arcade. Was that included in the original announcement?

I'll be ordering the LE version.

The image you linked to is the figure that was included with the first print-run of the Mushihime-sama OST CD.

The figure to be included with the LE version of the game will be Reko as a child.

It was. Famitsu online is a bit retarded. They're reporting now the forthcoming release of Taito Memories Joukan.
