Most freaky, messed-up enemies/bosses
I was playing Guwange today and decided on a whim to credit-feed to see the ending. That game has some F-ed up bosses. The spider-cat is an honorable mention but nothing beats that last boss, the big monster with a baby's face. That just creeped me out.
Anyone know any other really weird/creepy/messed-up bosses or enemies that are memorable?

Funny, I was going to mention it since the moment I saw the topic name, but it actually was created because of that boss. Should have guessed, huh. :)kengou wrote:The spider-cat is an honorable mention but nothing beats that last boss, the big monster with a baby's face.
I guess final bosses in Gradius series are pretty messed-up. After all, everything they do is self-destructing. This is final boss, how lame that can be.

download 2 on pc engine....... last boss was a resurrected hitler in a very meaty form.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Nah, there's nothing weird about a giant hybrid arachnid/mammal monstrosity.

Metal Black's Omega Zone (screw whoever took down those MB playthroughs on YouTube) was one boss that truly struck me as weird, and yet so appropriate for a Taito shmup. The one thing about it I immediately recall about it is when OZ took enough damage, a cat that appeared in the background. Well, aside from the random points in Human history that were shown before that.
After it died, various images flash by, followed by a memorable image of the Earth being split in two. I probably would've had nightmares if I had played Metal Black in the arcade as a child.

That mothership boss which drops giant screws sort of qualifies as well- maybe not as far out as OZ, but still bearing a mention.Vincent Draconis wrote:Metal Black's Omega Zone (screw whoever took down those MB playthroughs on YouTube) was one boss that truly struck me as weird, and yet so appropriate for a Taito shmup. Every boss in X-Multiply gets my vote, especially Rokusu (a severed alien head) which attacks after stage 2's mothership battle.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

... and this isn't even the weirdest boss in this game.

Definitely a strange boss.
