XBOX price drop anytime soon??...

In light of the fact that the next XBOX is coming out this fall, I was wondering if there will be a price drop in the XBOX anytime soon.

Someone from Gamefaqs said that it'll go down to $129 after E3. I was hoping more like $99.00. *shrugs*

Yeah, I would buy one at $100. It would be modded though as I couldnt justify keeping it for the retail games.. well maybe 3 of them.

I'm really hoping this happens so I can pick up a gamecube on the cheap. Right now I'm having a hard time justifying its purchase but I can totally see it as a cheap Ikaruga player once my DC bites the dust.

As nVidia charges as much for their chips in the Xbox now as when the machine was released*, a price drop may be possible but I expect it will be hard to drop the price to $100 flat.

*causing Microsoft much grief as the chips can be manufactured for less now. Business contracts, yay!

Wait...so you're going to use a $100 Gamecube plus however much Ika runs nowadays to replace a $15 Dreamcast?

Oh there's more games on the box that I like then that. And with the great Sega support the console has, plus Metal Slug 3, I'd love to pick one up if there is a price drop. Guess we'll have to wait and see after E3!

Well if the xbox drops to 100 dollars flat, Nintendo is probably going to drop the price of the Gamecube. Thus I will be able to pick up a used cube on the cheap. As for the 15 dollar Dreamcast comment, Dreamcasts are getting increasingly rare around here. Dreamcasts that work with a boot disc are getting even more rare.

DC's are common on ebay...Gamecube you'd have to pay more, plus pay for Ikaruga, all to play an inferior port.

It's just not reasonable.

Okay yeah you have a point there. I'm not going through that much trouble just to buy an inferior port.
