PS3 De-bug question - regions
PS3 De-bug question - regions
I use a de-bug PS3. It plays PS2 and PS3 games from any region, and preview builds of course. It plays PS1 PAL games, but I've never tried a PS1 game from another region. Before splash out on something like Zanec X Zanec, does anyone know if they play PS1 games from every region?

Debug systems play anything. You'll be ok.
Its Zanac v Zanac before you start searching in the forums or ebay
I've never heard of a debug PS3 before, must be a sought after item. I'd be more interested to see if it played all BD movies

This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
Nah - it doesn't even play normal DVDs. Same as the de-bug PS2 and 360 I own. That said I've never even bothered trying with a BR disc. I was lucky enough to get my de-bug free as part of my job just before they came out. Can't think how you could buy one. I guess someone might sell one, but Sony would nail them for it if they found out.neorichieb1971 wrote:Debug systems play anything. You'll be ok.

Thanks for the advice.
Re: PS3 De-bug question - regions
I don't know why I stumbled on this thread again, but just as reference, if you do have one of these in your sights, without tinkering with any settings it plays every region on earth (as far as I know - certainly PAL, NTSC-J, NTSC) for PS1/PS2/PS3. You can also switch 'fake region' to cater for things like the audio stuttering/slowdown in games like Gradius Gaiden that happens when they are played on a chipped machine. You can change language, button behaviour etc, and create virtual memory cards for all formats.
It takes special de-bug firmware updates, but they can be found online if you're not 'industry'.
