It has shmupping!

Anyways yeah I posted about this in 2D-GAMING forum but no one replied there. But since it has a shmup in it I suppose it's on-topic here! Basically I'm curious if it's something worth importing for people like us. The games all seem to be made in the Famicom tradition but built from the ground up just for this game. Wasn't sure if some overlapping japanese text tied the whole experience together or how that worked. I would assume so just to get some of the atmosphere of the show into the game. In any case just thought this game deserved a thread.

Here's info on the tv show it's based on.

Actually, there are two shmups in the game - Cosmic Gate (the one featured in the image above) and Star Prince, a Soldier-game inspired one. You can find pics of all the games at the official website.

In each game you need to complete certain feats in order to unlock the next one. For easy reference the requirements are listed at the game's Wikipedia entry.

I actually bought the game just for Star Prince. Yeah, I'm a sucker. I don't even have a DS yet...
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I bought it when it first came out and have been enjoying it everyday! I don't know any Japanses either and still I have made it to the RPG with only one game left to reveal. There is info out there about the various cheat codes as well, although you may not need them so much. Cosmic Gate and Star Prince are both awesome Shmups!

I imagine there might even be sequels if this does well and seems to be selling great in Japan!

Long live the "Game Computer"! (inside joke...inside the game that is!)
