Tyrian shmup d/l for fw1.50 based PSP's - check it out!
If you recall playing the classic DOS-based Tyrian on the PC platform back in the day, developer Denis Televny has ported it to fw1.50 PSP for you to enjoy "on-the-go" shmup action anytime anywhere...
Here's the link to d/l Tyrian to your PSP:
http://dl.qj.net/General-Games/pg/12/fi ... /catid/195
It's a compressed 6.72MB file -- enjoy Tyrian on your PSP fellow shmuppers...
You might recall that Denis is the same guy who did the fw1.50 PSP port of Kenta Cho's Noiz2sa shmup for the PC platform a while back...very good shmup port indeed!
I'll check it out and see how it plays on the ol' PSP... ^_~

For Kaspal,
It's good to from another fellow shmupper who like the ol' classic PC shmup title of Tyrian...ain't it cool to be able Tyrian to play on your PSP nowdays? ^_~
Tyrian 2000 was stellar in my book as well when it first came out for the PC platform -- could that be ported for the PSP also? Deniska's da man when it comes porting some the classic PC shmups to the PSP... ^_~

How well do the neo/cps emulators run on the PSP? I just bought a PSP yesterday and have been enjoying castlevania - but I also picked up gradius and if I can find it I'll get metal slug.
I'd love to downgrade it to play some arcade games - but how's the speed?

The speed for those emulators is excellent... definitely one of the better emulators on the PSP!landshark wrote:How well do the neo/cps emulators run on the PSP? I just bought a PSP yesterday and have been enjoying castlevania - but I also picked up gradius and if I can find it I'll get metal slug.

the CPS1&2 and NeoGeo emus runs almost perfect on the PSP, unless the games are the latest neogeo or something...landshark wrote:How well do the neo/cps emulators run on the PSP? now, for metal slug... even tho, the pack that was officially released has some things that i dont like, its pretty much worth gettin the Metal Slug Anthology... comes with every metal slug that was released in the arcades (1-6)...
now, theres no need to downgrade anymore... if you use the exploits recently discovered, you can install the latest CFW w/o the need to go to FW 1.5 in order to do so.
enjoy the PSP, and welcome to the group of PSP Homebrew users.

Patch update v0.6 for Tyrian on PSP homebrew...
Deniska just recently released a patch to update to version 0.6 of Tyrian for PSP -- just replace the old EBoot with the new one in v0.6 and you're all set...
Here's the link to d/l it:

This patch will increase the game's overall speed 10% over the v0.5 release of Tyrian for PSP... ^_~

From what I'm reading, it's still not quite at 100% yet.
If you're buying a new PSP (especially if it's the newer Slim & Lite model), you'll need access to a Pandora Battery & Magic Memory Stick to enable homebrew through custom firmware (CFW). You can make them yourself if you have access to an original PSP with CFW, though. You can get a Datel TOOL battery, which is essentially the same as a Pandora Battery, but you'll still need a CFW PSP to make the Magic Memory Stick...

or you could buy an already CFW'ed PSP, and avoid all the hassle of doin it yourself (if its a Slim&Lite model... since the FAT one its pretty easy to reprogram).Triple Lei wrote:From what I'm reading, it's still not quite at 100% yet.
