I'm really new here (like this is my first post), but I love shmups and was irresistibly drawn to these figures (I just bought them). I've never ordered NCSX before, but hopefully the ships arrive safely. Anybody know exactly when they come out?

Me too, classic ship design. Shame Gradius got 2 designs. I'd sooner of had 4 different ships.

Not keen on the model that comes with R-Type Tactics. Naff colour choice.

The NCSX link states that there are only five in the set, yet that picture shows 6 models.

4 of the ships have an alternate color scheme. The boxes of 12 they are selling next year will randomly have the alternately colored ones... no idea about the sets that are being sold in December.

Play Asia now have them on pre-order too (individually):

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-92- ... -2f9n.html (pre-order for Feb)

They also have a similar gashapon set called SR Shooting Game Historica Figure Collection, which is currently in stock:

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-93- ... -2fq1.html

Sadly, they only seem to send out random ones though.

If you pre-order them through NCSX they're shipping out the set today (the set of five or six I think)! I'll get mines on Friday (by UPS, don't mess up UPS!).

Post back when they arrive - would be useful to know if it's the complete set they are selling.

Well it's going to come with everything but one SilverHawk (it's either going to be blue or red).

I'm planning to Pre-Order the large box set of the 12 toys (but I'm waiting for the package on Friday to come in).

Interesting, so the ones released in Feb will come in individual boxes, and there are a total of 9 unique ships (incl. variants). Will NCSX under-declare when shipping (to help avoid import duties)? I notice there is a Notes field on the shipping form.

Well I got the set today from UPS and put all the pieces together for the five ships.

Each ship came in a ball with the ship pieces (you must put the parts together, it's easy really).

Now, the good:

They all look great when completed.

The bad:

I think the Chinese factory who made the Toys were either rushing or didn't do a good job at all.

When putting some parts together they don't hold good (you just touch them a little and they fall off). I had to use superglue for this.

Anyway, let me explain.

Image

The OF-1 from Image Fight. Look at the back of the ship, the small wings at the back. Look how good is the left small wing, and look at the right. Yeah.

Also the pilot area of the ship is crooked. I later fixed it.

The Pods look cool.

Image

Look at the front left area. You'll see some black. Look at the front right area, the areas that should be black is missing (it's actually really hard to see, but look carefully).

Image

How it looks for the side (sorry for the shitty image).

Anyway, the Image Fight ship wasn't that hard to install. I Didn't have to use superglue for it.

Image

The Silverhawk, lovely fighter ship. Looks good when completed but trust me it was a bitch to install it. The parts are mostly small and thin and they don't stay on the ship that well so superglue was needed. Most of the small parts of the ship were most likely superglued to prevent them from coming off.

The Vic Viper was not that hard to install, but they were some parts that needed to be glued.

The Option is a orange ball plastic.

Image

The missiles had to be glued. If you move it, it came right off. >.>

Image

Why the back of the missiles are not straight? I didn't do it, it came like that.

Image

The Metarion was really easy to install. Took me about a minute to put the pieces together. I had to glued the top wings but that was it.

Image

Image

The R-9 was just hard to install not because of the parts (I didn't use any superglue at all), it was how the Bits + force was set up. Well, take a look.

Group photo. :o

It's really cool to have it in your room if you know what I mean. I just pre-order the big box of 12 from NCSX. Can't wait for the ship color variants and hopefully replace the right wing on the Image Fight so the colors would be perfect! I need a Blue Silverhawk.

I really like the design contrast between the Vic and the Metalion. Metalion looks really industrial and purpose-built by comparison. Never played the MSX Nemesis games much, but it reminds me a lot of Gradius II's arcade title screen. Thanks for the pictures, by the way!

I'm pretty sure I ordered too late...I called yesterday and they said that I wasn't included in the pre-order but they'll see if they get more in stock. I haven't ordered from them before, but I'm thinking I might just cancel my order and buy the box of 12 for Feb (even though I really only want the five...).

NCS are bloody good. I Preordered these so long ago my bank details changed, and they contacted me direct from New York, spoke to me on the phone with me being in the UK, and sorted everything super fast. Me like...

I just got them today - they are fuckin' awesome, but they are a little cheap and crooked. I too had to glue some parts, but it seems I had problems with different areas, so it's total luck how much work your's need and where they need it.

Bigger than I imagined too...

Just off to fly Vic-Viper around the kitchen...

I was thinking the same think. It really has a '70s sci-fi look to it. Now I want to go play its MSX game.

Got my 12-set from NCSX yesterday and now they're proudly guarding my bookshelf along with the rest of my nerd swag. The duplicates (and the blue Silver Hawk) are still in pieces, I'm not sure what to do with those yet. As long as we're hoping for the next batch, I want Thunder Force ships with Guardian's Knight as the hidden, secret one. Not that that's gonna happen.

Fighter17, I assume you've already figured out the proper way of setting up the R9 with its force and bits?

A golden Silver Hawk and a black R-9. Were the variants a luck of the draw or what?
