Play Asia says Shiki III is compatible with NTSC-J consoles and question marks for NTSC-U and PAL. Anybody know about the non J regions? Oh ya, I"m talking about the 360 version.

Play-Asia shows that the US and PAL regions won't work.

I have a J360, should I..? There's the Wii version available, too. I wonder what the achievements will be?

Makes sense the game is region locked considering most japanese 360 games are and Arc Systems other recently released game Guilty Gear 2 Overture is also locked. Well, there is still a chance of a US port but it might take while till it comes over.

Just got a press release in my mailbox - Aksys Games is bringing this to the US Wii!

http://www.aksysgames.com/press_releases/cs_121407.html

Somebody had better let me review this one...

For the sake of our own sanity, let's not even talk about Psikyo, Battle Garegga, or DDP DOJ with each other.

Awesome news, I'll buy it for sure on the Wii. Wonder if it will use the gamecube controller or the wiimote in some way (D-pad is good but with only two buttons it might be annoying to tap the shot button)

Aksys games have pretty good localizations in my experience, even if the games themselves are godawful. Which SnSIII will probably not be, thankfully.

Dunno if they'll re-dub the voices, though. I don't think Nintendo has a policy like SCEA does where the game's primary spoken language MUST be English.

Seems to me that they'll be the guys doing publishing duties for most of Arc's games in the US from this point on.

According to p-a you can use a GC controller. I'd like to hear confirmation of this from someone who's actually played it, though.

Perennial question: will it have tate option? If so, great. If not, what's the point?

Yes, but do you pay money to publish said review? ;)

If it's in the JP version, I don't see why they'd strip it out. Considering Aksys is a niche publisher, they don't want to piss off the small, core group of people who would actually buy this. Hell, I'm willing to bet there's an Aksys employee or two lurking among us to see what we have to say about this...

I've played it. You can select in the options which control method you'd like to use. Those stated by PA are correct and are also printed on the back of the cover.

As a collector I also got the Xbox 360 one, which I'd recommend due to slightly better graphics.

The d-pad on the GC controller is so tiny... I hope this one features actual analog movement so I can use the stick.

I don't see what's excellent about it. The interviewer didn't ask a single interesting question, and the interviewee didn't give a single interesting answer. Besides, he couldn't have because he is just a marketer.

In case anyone is wondering, the Wii version supports Classic and Gamecube controllers.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

AS: That is correct. While the Wii’s motion controls are great, there was really no need to include it for this project, especially considering the manic design of Shikigami no Shiro.

...

AR: Will the game support use of the Classic Controller and GameCube pad for fans wanting to play using a traditional controller?

AS: Absolutely.

It's great that they didn't simply find some stupid reason on how to implement the motion stuff. I mean such games really don't need this. Reminds me about the ugly conversion of Metal Slug Complete of even Shin Chuuka where you could flip the Wiimote to increase/decrease scrolling speed.

The GC controller option is not useful for the official controller, but it is for this controller:

http://www.hori.jp/us/products/ngc/gbp_con/index.html

It's also a useful option for people who own the PS2 HRAP 2 and a PS2 to GCN converter. At least, that's why I'm happy about the GCN support. Certainly not for the analog or tiny D-Pad.

I used to have one of those Hori digital GameCube controllers. The D-pad hurts just as much as the SNES/SFC one. But I'm more of a thumb slider than a thumb rocker.

On the other hand, the Classic Controller D-pad is great and very comfortable.
I still prefer to use a joystick though.

Whoever had any doubts as to the answers of those two questions is either unfathomably dumb, or just started playing games last month.

The questions are worthless.

People who've played games such as Metal Slug Anthology may have concerns. The best it supported was the Gamecube analog stick. It's an entirely reasonable question that may have helped quell some people's fears.

Guys i didnt want to start a SHiki thread for a few questions i have
so i thought this would be as good as any.

1. Im really getting into Shiki 2, is it worth getting the English version
of it for storyline etc?

2. How different are the 3 Shiki games compared to each other?

Cheers!
