Triggerheart Exelica, occasionally (by that I mean once in the past month or so)

Recently stopped playing Nomltest FS since I haven't progressed in that damn game in 2 years.

...whatever's in the cab at home, usually it's Mushihimesama. Today it was Espgaluda.

I suck at Espgaluda. :(

Dimahoo. I think I've got most of Stage 1 and 2 panned out. I still need to figure out the exact locations of each treasure and qualifications to get them, but I'm getting there. I'm weak though, I waste all my bombs on the stage 2 boss and die then overload the 3rd boss with more bombs. Too dependent on bombs, but this game is hard.

Trying Viewpoint. I've never played it before and I'd like to see if it fits me. Isometric sounds interesting.

NONSHOOTINGTHINGIES
Mario's Picross 2. Or Mario no Picross 2 for you purists. It's a LOT different from the others, you are no longer even the slightest bit dependent on most of the pictures because it's made of 4 pictures instead. I'd love to have Picross DS.

Metal Slug. I'm "Still Green" and not but a new recruit. But I'll keep trying, this game does not lack a bit of fun. I have access to them all except 6, which is why I need a Wii, but I'm still figuring out the first one now.

I recently picked up on Xexex. It sort of reminds me of X Multiply, thanks to Flint. X Multiply is like cutting someone opening and playing R-Type inside of it. Hah.

Also stuck on Gradius III Again.

Trying to 1CC Sengoku Blade. I'm not sure how close I'm getting to the end because I've literally never used a continue (this is the only game where I can make that claim (at least honestly)).

Also Batsugun and Souky, but slightly more casually.

Since Bari-Arm was mentioned in another thread today, I went back to it and finally managed to SCC the game on Normal.

I've also been working on chaining in the first couple of levels in Dodonpachi (PSX rev). It's annoying that it will save every setting to the memory card except WAIT ON.

There's a PSX Revision of Dodon? I had to go illegal for that. JEEPERS. Nevertheless, that's an awesome manic by Cave. They made another like it with DISCO muzaks.

Also playing: Salamander 2 / X Multiply / Giga Wing / LOTS Of Galaga / Asteroids. Hey, we all go super retro every once in a while.

By DISCO do you mean Dangun Feveron?

X Multiply is something I saw, thought looked cool, but something happened and it's been stuck in a corner of my mind forever.

Okay, I have finally come to my senses and quit playing Dimahoo. Let's go for something a little more light... oh wait, it's right there *points to the mention of X Multiply*

Oh yeah and Gunstar Heroes. Can never have enough Gunstar Heroes.

Just played Guwange and actually, properly got it for the first time ever. Only managed to get to stage 4 with a measly score of just over 1,000,000, but it's a start. Might focus some more on it when i'm exiled to the countryside over the xmas hols with nary an NTSC TV in sight

Layer section. At first I was like "what? no hiscore saving? that sucks!". Then I noticed the record option and switched it to on. Awesome game.

My PS2 is my main gaming system right now (The only one that's hooked, and I am not using the PC for gaming anymore)

The game inside it right now is Psyvariar 2. Awesome game, look forward to see me at the hi-score tables soon.

Change.

Well now. I've got a schedule for me.

SHMUPS
DonPachi. I've tried to play all these crazy danmaku shooters, what few I could, and I completely forgot this. This is in direct violation of a Bullet(a) rule: "Basic training is the foundation for advanced stuff. One must not forget to always return to the basics." What have I done?
Dangun Feveron. The easiest Cave scoring system, and pretty fun, but I'm not playing it very much now. I'll still pop a few credits if I get bored though.
GRIND Stormer. V-5 in particular. I never played these back then. What the hell was I missing? DonPachi Zero and the original concept for Cavadius, that's what. I'm playing the Arcade version mostly. For some reason the Genesis/Megadrive version just seems too slow compared to the original. I dunno why...

NON SHMUPS
Nothing at the moment.

As I've been holding back on console games until I get a certain arcade stick for the holidays, I haven't played many Shmups as a result. What I have played is:

Giga Wing Generations. Perhaps its just this PS2 port, but there's something about this game that I don't really like. Maybe it's just the gameplay that doesn't really suit my style of preferred Shmup. I'll just keep playing and see if my thoughts on it turn around.

Espgaluda It's my first arcade shmup on my own candy and I'm stoked. The play mechanics are great - not that many don't know this already - and like DoDonpachi, I find myself trying out new patterns almost each time to see what scores the best.
