Standing or Sitting?

3 considerations in my mind...
Firstly whether or not you mind standing up all the time. If you are going to always perch on a bar stool might as well get a proper sit down.
Secondly, the monitors are angled different on Jap cabs and sit back further than on most wooden standups - personally I find it easier to take in everything and that seems to make a difference to how well I do (really bad or just bad). Got to also think that Jap shooters were designed around this format rather than the old western standups.
Konami (and maybe others) did some nice wooden standups in the west that seem to have a similar angle and give you a good position though.
Nostalgia - if you are getting it to play 80s/90s games as you would have done back in the day then it would have to be a woody.
When I decided to get a cab I places Nostalgia higher than the others but soon came to realise that I can't be arsed standing or perching on a bar stool so I went the Japanese route...

I prefer to sit down, but never in an "easy" chair. Easy chairs are great for racing games though.
If I play an arcade cab, and there is a stool nearby, I will grab it and sit down.
At home, for intense games, I choose to sit on an automan/footrest.
Although, it seems light-gun games are easier to play while standing, as I feel less fatigue. The only bad thing about that is, well, my TV sits too low when I'm standing up.
