Help wiring my J-scart connector.

Post by Specineff »

Undamned here was kind enough to get me a couple J-scart connectors, and I was ready to solder them using my custom RGB cables. Problem is I'm kind of confused by the pinouts. The custom RGB cable was made by our own Matt Ross, and it features the composite sync separator circuit required by the PS1 and PS2 systems.

I can understand this all right:

But I only have five wires coming out of my cable/system: R, G, B, sync and ground. Ignoring the audio connections, that leaves ten pins to connect. What do I do with the "shield" pins? Do I need to connect the 5 Volt one if I'm going to use it with an XRGB 2?

Thanks for any help.

The "sheild" pins are supposed to be grounded, but you don't need to connect all of them.

For the XRGB, all you need are RGB, audio, sync, and one of the ground pins.

So I just bridge either of the shield pins to the ground wire?
