want to make a CP - can anyone tell me what drill / bit i need for button holes?

You need a 30mm bit. Usually you get a hole saw bit for this kind of thing. It's kind of hard to find stuff in that size in the US... most big name stores don't sell them, so you might have to order online like I did. You'll also need a bit for them, but those you can find anywhere.

I bought an adjustable hole saw from Home Depot when I drilled my wood control panels for my midway cab. The minimun it would go did fit Happ buttons which I think is 30mm. You won't be able to drill start sanwa sized button holes though..

BTW: is this wood or metal you are drilling? There are a completely different set of metal drill bits that I believe have up to 30mm in size...saw it at Costco once.

Happ are not 30mm, they are 1-1/8". The smaller Sanwa buttons are 24mm.
