Someone show me shots of Cho Ren SHa 6800k
I'm not into PC gaming so PC shmups are something I don't sought after but this game seems interesting but I've only so far read a review on it but find no pics of the game.

In that video the game is running much too slow, I'd say less than half the correct speed.FrederikJurk wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahk8-mFHXYI
Here's what it really looks like:

The website for the game has shots. Also, it's 68k as in 68000. The game was originally for the x68000 computer.

No you need to download it from the Japanese site, Just keep clicking random links untill it starts a download.Lawfer wrote:Do they sell a boxed version for the PC version? If not where can I download the PC version from?
It would have been nice to have a variety of backgrounds in this game. Still one of my favorites though.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Or you could simply click on the word "Download" in the page I linked in my above post with the screens and click on the download link that says "DOWNLOAD (game version)" to download the game.Pixel_Outlaw wrote:No you need to download it from the Japanese site, Just keep clicking random links untill it starts a download.Lawfer wrote:Do they sell a boxed version for the PC version? Your post was a couple minutes too late as I already DOWNLOADED the game and hence was blinded by the 640x480 graphics stretched unto full screen.BrianC wrote: Or you could simply click on the word "Download" in the page I linked in my above post with the screens and click on the download link that says "DOWNLOAD (game version)" to download the game.

oh ok. I thought you were blinded by the colors on the website. That last post wasn't exactly descriptive. Also, I put the word download in caps simply to copy how the website wrote it, not to emphasize the word "download". That's why I put in quotes. Pixel_Outlaw told you to follow random links and I was simply pointing out that there are links on the site in English.Lawfer wrote:Your post was a couple minutes too late as I already DOWNLOADED the game and hence was blinded by the 640x480 graphics stretched unto full screen.BrianC wrote: Or you could simply click on the word "Download" in the page I linked in my above post with the screens and click on the download link that says "DOWNLOAD (game version)" to download the game.
I originally had only the X68000 version copied because I was confused by the box and manual post, even though it said PC. The X68000 version came first, so I thought the post was asking if the X68000 version originally came with box and manual.
Anyway, some X68000 emulators support window mode. That might be the way to go. I don't know which to recommend, though.

The X68000 version looks much better than the Windows version.

They look identical. Get an X68000 emulator and see for yourself.Lawfer wrote:Judging by this video:BrianC wrote:Anyway, some X68000 emulators support window mode. That might be the way to go. I don't know which to recommend, though.

Then again, the rate at which you fire is pretty fast. Auto-fire is practically on since tapping or manual rapid fire isn't necessary.Damocles wrote:Yet there's no auto-fire in the game...Magic Knight wrote:Chou means "Super", rensha means "Rapid-Fire", so the name's pretty descriptive.alysa wrote:Does the name mean anything inparticular? I'm not sure. I couldn't get it working properly on the emulator I tried (I forgot if it was EX68 or another one), though it has been awhile since I have tried it. It would play, but the controls didn't work with it, despite working fine with other games on the emulator. I think it went into a windowed mode where there were no borders, so it might have tate, though.Dave_K. wrote:Did the original version have a tate mode on the X6800?BrianC wrote:Also, it's 68k as in 68000. Edit: I tried it again. It has a tate mode, but it's a bit odd since it keeps the score display untated on top of the screen.
