Basically, I want to get a couple of Saturn pads modded to Neo-Geo standard, so I can use them on a Sigma supergun. I get the impression this is fairly straight forward mod, but have no doubt that still means it's beyond my (non-existent) modding capabilities. Plus, I'm lazy and would rather get someone else to do it
If anyone's up for it, drop me a PM or msg here, and give me an estimate. I can pay by Paypal straight away. Anyone UK based would be ideal, but I'd have no issues shipping abroad.
I have some already modded Genesis 6-button pads kicking around I may or may not sell... I'm just sort of keeping them around with one of my crappy superguns I might give away.
I won't have access to them for at least a week and a bit but I'd be happy to crack them open for a photograph in case you are wondering how to do the mod... Can't help the part about laziness though!
Thanks, that's kind of you to offer...but I really want to use JP skeleton saturn pads. Not that that makes modding them any harder - but given the likihood of me screwing up the mod (which trust me, is highly likely ), it does make things that bit riskier, since skeleton pads aren't that cheap.
Shame Matt doesn't still hang out here and do mods...

Right here!
Back on topic:
Sorry Grinning Cat, can't help you with the mod, but I am curious where you got those skeleton pads? Saturn pads in general (except for the black US ones) seem scarce of late
People I have dealt with successfully: bleem (x2), spazicon, sven666, sparky, iatneH, Dragon1952, kozo, Ghegs
I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you Nah, seriously, I haven't ordered them yet...and outside of the pair I'm eyeing up, I'm not really sure. Last time I checked, there were a couple floating around on eBay (from Japan), though IIRC the shipping was a bit of a killer...
Hmm... I think I sold a skeleton pad to Kingbuzzo recently for $5 or $10... it was the only one I had and the R button was a bit gibbled.
I don't think it's that easy to botch the mod either, unless you somehow manage to separate traces from the PCB, maybe if you soldered a wire and then yanked it really hard.

Hey matt, amazingly, I hadn't even thought of that That said, I'm still more than happy to pay someone else to do it. Hey, at least that way, the pads will definitely work!

Trust me, as long as there is a way to mess it up...
