One thing I love about Arcadia Magazine...

Post by undamned »

... is they are not afraid to publish even the most horrible fan art.

I've gone through about 30 issues and this has to be my favourite of the horrible fan art:

Image

I'm thinking this is going to end up on one of my t-shirts :D

EDIT:
That's (US)Balrog/(JP)M.Bison vs Zangief if you couldn't tell ;)

EDIT 2:
Ok, maybe it's Heavy D not Zangief ;)

I think it´s great. It would have been much better if it wasn´t done with color pencils, but otherwise, it´s got a lot of action in it, and the expressions are quirky.

That's pretty awesome. :) Would love to see more, I didn't know they had a fan art section.

Most Japanese videogames mags tend to. I don't mean to promote cultural sterotypes but... they're all such good artists  And perverts, obv. My girlfriend was leafing through a copy of Arcadia and was like; "why so many pre-pubecent girls in swimsuits?"

And Lordstar, if you shove that art on a t-shirt, you'll have a winner :D

You know, greg says the same thing, and based on Arcadia and a few other JP gaming mags, I have to strongly disagree. I think I've seen just as much JP poo fan art as US.

Yes, I have higher rez scans if anybody wants them for a shirt :D

Isn't that Heavy D from KOF 94 & 98 getting his face rearranged? edit 1: I love the picture btw. Mutual fist in the face fighting game art seldom disappoints.

edit 2: It would've made a killer alt. cover for CVS1 too.

If you can get the "artist's" name in the shirt that would be good since you are using their images. Just to be fair.

1: He or she will never find out about it.

2: If he or she does, I doubt they will care.

I wonder what both the Contra and the Operation Wolf fanart are referencing.

Seems like there was some kind of farmer fad in the late 80s in Japan, that I'm sure has been long forgotten.

Wow, Gradius porn. Now I have seen everything.

Lordstar, you should really make some of these into shirts! They would work great as small panels on the chest of a black shirt, especially the tooth smashing one and the Gradius boss/woman one...

Okay... that Contra (Bill?) guy's "FUCK YOU" shirt just killed me. XD

A lot of these really are excellent, thanks for sharing them! I love the perspective on that R-Type II first boss image.

that looks a lot more like Heavy D of KOF than gief.
Image

does it say who it is anywhere in the magazine? would be a cool boxing match.

i love the flying teeth. and the expression (or lack there of) in their eyes.

edit: oh, having actually read the thread now, I realize I'm not the first to acknowledge this similarity. awesome thread btw.

right to left of course:
first panel: 'whoa so creepy...'
second panel: 'hey handsome <3, mind feeding me, so hungry <3'
third panel: 'GYAH why does this have to happen now!! Where can I relieve myself!?'
fourth panel: 'Hm?'
fifth panel: 'OH GOD NO WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY'
