From what I recall, it's a tweaked version of, believe or not, Raiden 2. Arcade only. The biggest difference I'm aware of is that the game works backwards compared to the original. Hence, St5 on Raiden 2 is St1 in NEW. There was a bit of footage released on the INH Aces High DVD set. Otherwise, PCE-FX might have landed a board on ebay about a year ago or so.

Awful, awful sound and music. Board is much smaller in size than the original, and full of appropriately cheap parts.

I was told by another fellow shmupper that Seibu Kaihatsu had released Raiden II New Version PCB and Raiden DX New Version PCB themselves. And yes, they are official PCB releases and not bootlegs to begin with... ^_~

After hearing about how cheap the "New Version" iteration PCBs were, I decided they were not worth my trouble and time...

It's best to stick with the original PCB releases of Raiden II and Raiden DX PCBs if you want to have the best gameplay experience and overall BGM tunes/sound effects... ^_~

No this is not a bootleg, it was made by Seibu to recap on it's popularity. It has inferior sound.
