Astro City artwork holder

Post by MattR »

Hi,

Did the Astro City cabinet come with an artwork holder like Egret 2/3?

Cheers,
Matt

I assume they are made from acrylic and attach to the back of the cabinet. I don't suppose you have any pictures?

its basically just two sheets of seethru plastic with holes drilled at the bottom, they attach to the two screws at the top of the cabinet.

ery simple design, if you dont have one you might as well make your own rather than spending time and cash trying to hunt down an original one.

ill see if i still have one at home i can photograph.

Ah yes. The unused screws that have a non-standard head :D

If you could photograph it that would be great. There is an acrylic workshop in town that can make almost anything.

Cheers,
Matt

The two squares where the mounting holes are twice the thickness so it doesn't sit flush with the back (needs to be raised slightly to avoid pressing against the top middle screw on the back plate of the cab).

Thanks Dave.

How thick is the acrylic?

Looks like two sheets attached at the base (where it is reinforced) and held by two screws at the top?

Out of interest, is all "artwork" the same size? Is that artwork designed to fit these as standard?

If you want to be exact, its 1/8 thick (looks 5/16 thick at the two squares with holes), with a 1/16 thick square cutout in the middle where the artwork lays (11 and 3/16 by 14 and 1/8th). There is a plastic sheet (about the thickness of construction paper) with two long slits that then holds the artwork in the cutout/groove, which goes down to the screw holes). Sorry for the US/Inches measurements.

Here is a pic of the top edge whiich shows the plastic sheet in the back, and the 1/16 deep cutout in the middle.

Here is a pic of the bottom edge (squares sticking out towards the front side).

Most artwork I've seen is around 8 and 1/2 by 11 (varies slightly by PCB manufacturer and decade game was produced). There is plenty of extra room when I place cave artwork in this.
