Little Miss Gamer Reviews Gyruss
Little Miss Gamer is a refreshing face, and voice in the video game reviewing scene. She's done only a couple lighthearted reviews about games that uhm, emotionally affect her, but I really enjoy her style.
Her second and latest review is of the shmup, Gyruss.
Check it out here.

It looks like a pretty neat game, I'm gonna have to give it a go sometime soon... to see if stage 19 is really as hard as she claims. Heh heh.
Gyruss, anyone?
You can also check out her Missle Command review at http://www.pbc-productions.com/index.html

She talks about videogames like female hygiene, in a very annoying voice.
And at times it sounds like she is talking to a baby.
This doesn´t have anything to do with her being a woman (even though she is already belittling herself with the mere name "Little Miss Gamer"), but it IS very boring. I like the part where she says "We don´t have as much time like we had when we were kids". That´s right. Especially not to watch 20 minutes of boring rambling about videogames.
"I´m still dying at stage 19 and it´s really annoying."

EDIT: After talking about using "the code" responsibly for five minutes, she starts playing the actual game for 30 seconds only to start talking about "the code" AGAIN. Jesus woman, let this be my own concern whether I use the CODE or not!

She should update her look a bit. Something less school teacher/amish.
Hair makeup contact lenses.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Depends, there's some good ones. These guys have some really great reviews of hilariously broken fighting games:GaijinPunch wrote:Am I the only one that thinks Youtube game reviews are awful?

The classic Centuri version of Gyruss arcade upright was cool to play back in the early 1980's...at 25 cents a pop to play though. ^_~
Once, I got to the very last stage before reaching Earth and died on my last life...so close to reaching Earth on the Centuri Gyruss cabinet... ^_~
The Ultra/Konami label version of Gyruss on the NES platform was quite different but fun nevertheless...
I was pleasantly suprised to see a very close arcade port of Gyruss on the GBA platform when Konami brought out it's "Konami Arcade Advance" cartridge iteration... ^_~

If it was an in-depth explanation of mechanics and level breakdown I could've watched 20 minutes. Puppet shows and whining about difficulty is not a review. In fact, if you can't beat a game you have no business reviewing it.

Boy, she really waffles on at times. She managed to spend more than 5 minutes (from 2:30 to 7:50) just talking about how she usually bombs out on stage 19, how she found out about the cheat code, and then how she overcame her reticence to use the code.
I bet she's one of those people who can bend your ear for 10 minutes telling you about how she wasn't sure what she wanted for breakfast this morning.

Yeah. I think when men complain that women aren´t interested in games and that they want to be with a gamer girl they have no idea what they are asking for.Emperor Fossil wrote:Boy, she really waffles on at times. As a professed LOLicon, I enjoy watching F17 taking a shit on a thread (aka "sex with a man".) Just as long as no one ever responds him ever again.

I have a full size dedicated cab and a cabaret cab of Gyruss. I love Gyruss so much I have a cab in each of my "cab rooms".. Awesome game with a decent port and an awful reviewer here.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:The classic Centuri version of Gyruss arcade upright was cool to play back in the early 1980's...at 25 cents a pop to play though. ^_~
