This is awesome, i never thought before to search for plain tube amps rather than brand name shit. Just type the name of the power tube on ebay plus amp and you'll get results. I'm low on cash after the AC30 but I definitely want to experiment with this idea

p.s. - I'll ask my dad about the whereabouts of that cable tonite, his father just died so it's been kind of awkward to bring up in conversations

I finally sold off all my extra gear. I am now down to just one guitar, one amp, and one overdrive pedal.

At my peak, I had around 7 guitars, 4-5 amps, and a few pedals. I just don't need all that anymore since I'm not really a serious player. I'm starting to collect vintage vinyl albums... so I think I found another hobby.

Now I just need to learn a chord or two...

He's a gigantic douche bag who treats the parents like shit yet they don't have the heart to kick him out. He tries to preach to everyone instead of talk, he's super arrogant, and last but not least, he tried to crash my guitar hero party that I had 10 guests over (only 4 were from PA), by preaching, quit playing a plastic guitar and play the real thing.

He has pretty much got me to stop playing GH altogether at home, because every time I would play he'd make some smartass comment.

My first guitar was one of their Les Paul copies and I think I'd like to get another in tobacco burst. Not out of nostalgia, but I remember them as being pretty good Les Pauls. Light weight and a fast neck, can usually be found for under $200. Swapping the pickups is pretty much a requirement but you can find PAF's or something on ebay for cheap.

I've been playing with this kid who has a Gretsch and I'm absolutely gay for it. It's over 2 grand in price but the sound is fantastic, very punchy. I'm wonder if I could fit a filtertron pickup to any of my guitars without it looking ridiculous.

Hey! I resemble that remark! Has it been a month already? I have been hecka sick but that's only for the past week and a half. I must be slippin.

Anyway, here it is:

See how my dog is keeping one eye open? That's because he's trained to protect my shit! Anyway, I really don't have much clue what to do with the thing. I understand what a power chord is but playing a song or even a riff is still over my head. If I was the easily discouraged type I'd probably be saying something like "I should just stick to bass" but I have alot of fun and one of these days I'll probably learn something. I figure if I can become 50% as proficient as Dee Dee Ramone (he played guitar too!) I'll be well on my way to fame and fortune.

I guess it's supposed to not be very sweet as it is a Crate but it gets the job done so I'll not be looking to upgrade any time soon. I told ya my Muff was dusty. Which, coincidentally, is what all my women keep saying to me. Honestly I prefer the sound of Rat for bass and guitar. And yes, that is an inflatable PaRappa.

60's Teisco sg. Neck pickup has been replaced with a gibson 57 classic (which cost more that the guitar at the time )

Unfortunately this thing is maybe a year away from needing to be totally refretted.

And here is my late 70's 50w tube traynor bassmaster head. My favourite amp ever, and was handmade in Toronto.
Sold my 2x12 cab before I moved so I'm looking at building another one.
Maybe one that fits the shape of the head so I can have a stack that looks like a minifridge.

I doubt anyone would get it so I'll just give it away.

it's a case for a Mansfield Jazzmaster. You might see the same thing under the Ibanez name too. They were both made in the same factory in japan. Very cheap wood, half decent neck, horrible microphonic pickups, but it looked damn cool!

With that amp and the 57 classic I don't get any feedback problems to speak of. But sometimes I like some feedback :p

For overdrive I've been using my friends TS9 tubescreamer which was 808 modded my analog man.

I might build myself an 808 tubescreamer because I really like the sound. Currently I'm building an mxr distortion+, and I'm using a funny late 80's dod distortion for my more noisy and spacey sounds. sounds like poo but has a neat way for creating a distorted sound without really hearing any kind of drive on the notes themselves.

Well, I have only had a six-string for like a month so I'll probably hold onto the Muff and see what I can shake out of it. If I ever do feel like parting with it I'll try to look you up.

I've never seen a sovtek amp, I'd love to try one of those out.

1. Sell scummy SG and AC30.

2. Purchase Rickenbacker 330 and 100 watt Marshall super lead+cab

3. Profit

Even if I don't it's a really cool feeling that gear that I always wanted as a kid is now within my pricerange (well, sort of). A real Marshall, just like a big kid! I also have all the Sega Genesis games I could ever want, can eat pizza for breakfast, and stay up all night. It's like my dreams when I was 11 are all coming true. If this ten year delay holds out I can't wait till I'm 26 and bangin' super models/attractive teachers

I'm looking at getting a peavey reactor (tele copy) and checking out some nick pickups to replace the stock ones with. I really like those guitars and find them to be better than the mexican tele from fender.

Heres my Cort B4FL fretless bass:

When I bought it I was a bit disappointed with the sounds, because it was my first fretless bass and I didn't know how to equalize the sound to meke it clean in a musical context, but now I lerned how to use it and I recognize it has extreme potential.

It is extremely light, well balanced, playable: it let's you to regulate the string at very low action, so it has a good "muahing" sound and it is good for fast chops. The sound is wonderful; if you can, you shoul'd try to play it without the amp, to hear the wonderful natural contra-like sound it has. Then, even if the electronic it's not the beste anche the clearest available on the market, you can use the pickup balancer and the active preamp with equalizer to get also more "opened" sounds, rich of mid frequencies, and other cool sounds.

God, it is perfect for jazz music, and it offers all this things at the price of 450/500 euros, but I bought used for 280!

Of course, I'm a great fan of Jaco Pastorius

I studied jazz guitar with an Italian jazz player for two years and he teach me harmony, scales, jazz basis, a bit of walking bass, jazz chops ecc. ecc. but when I switched to bass last year my spiritual teacher was Jaco. I learned the 70% of grooves and chops of his omonimous album "Jaco Pastorius", analized that stuff, and then I was able to groove in every situation from funk to swing, it is incredible. I consider myself in great debt with Jaco, it is so sad I'll never get the chance to thank him personally...

I can also say that hearing Jaco was an important part of my decision to quit with guitar also...

Anyways, I like so many bass player I'm afraid to forget someone: Alain Caron, Scott Ambush, Janek Gwizdala, Carles Benavent (Paco de Lucia bassist, he plays a semiacoustic electric fretless using a pick, I saw him live and it was wonderful), Marcus Miller, Gary Willis, Ney Conceicao (wonderful Brazilian bass and doublebass player that plays with Joao Bosco) Jhon Patitucci, Adam Nitti and many many others that I'm sure forgetting.

For Ney Conceicao I recommend you to check his "nosso trio" vids on youtube, awesome stuff, with the incredible drummer Kiko Freitas.

For Bravewood guitars: it seem to be awesome stuff, how much your friend paid for his Fender replica?

EDIT: I forgot the mighty Jeff Berlin, probably the best bass player living on Earth. He plays only four strings fretted, and he plays only with fingers, but he has an incredible taste and touch on the instrument, both in grooves/walkings and in solos; it woul'd be great if all bass players woul'd spend less time learning flashy tricks and concentrate on quality playing (not that the above mentioned players were only virtuosos, of course...).

EDIT2: I LOVE the double bass player Eddie Gomez! I can't express with simple words his incredible touch and inspired play, you must check him out (I'm sure you probably know him well, it is very famous). He recorded some wonderful albums with Chick Corea, and is the responsible for the wonderful samba comping on the song "Sicily", fron the Chick Corea "Friends" album.
