Help with Judgement Silversword

Post by lgb »

I've notice that there are two versions of it and also it is called "Rebirth Edition". Does anyone know the difference, if there is one, between the two versions and why it's called Rebirth Edition?

Rebirth is the commercially issued version, being somewhat altered and expanded upon the original I believe.

The original, with no subtitle, was the version that won the wonderwitch coding contest, where it earned a commercial release.

There´s another Silversword called Cardinal Sins, which IS totally different being caravan like and having different (cooler) weapons. It is only available for the WS through the wonderwitch player though.

You're thinking of the Happy Field Project re-issue, which as far as I know is exactly the same as the original retail release of Rebirth Edition, with an extra HFP screen on bootup, and the HFP logo on the box and cart label.

So how much should I be prepared to pay for a Rebirth Edition JSS if I stumble across one in the wild?

You must expect to pay up to 120-130$ or maybe higher... :?

Right now, Brian has one for sale in the trading station for 200$, including a light modded Wonderswan Color.

The eye strain issue just ruined it for me. Thanks for saving me £100!

All true, but please be advised that a WS CRYSTAL is advised to play this game on! A WS CRYSTAL modded with backlight is even better I suppose... (a wonder coin add on being a wet dream here if ya wanna play for HS´s).

Otherwise, it´s a game worthy of the money asked for it!
Best handheld vertical shmup by a milion miles! (kinda like my Gradius Galaxies, so won´t OVERstate this ;))

I feel really sorry for you...

Not giving this game a chance on a WS Crystal (which is THE platform to play this on) is your loss. Trust me... it´s about the best handheld shmup ever so far, certainly vertically scrolling!!! (Gradius Galaxies being the best hori shmup). :)

Yesyes, VERY good game and worth the money. I paid $120 shipped for mine from eBay.

SwanCrystal is an absolute MUST. The screen is comparable to the old GBA or GBA SP, which is pretty damn good, looks gorgeous in sunlight.

I have a frontlight modded SwanCrystal by mash-mods, it's good enough for casual playing but I need to be under a lamp to get high scores in JSS.

I don't mind going in Wonderswan buying but the problem is that there's not enough games for me to buy on it (JS is not enough for me).

Trust me, JSS is all you need, it's worth getting the system just to play it. Besides, the system is only $20-$30. You've probably spent more money on a memory card for a modern game console.

Lol.

But dude I need more games.

Give me some games that's good and has little Japanese. That's the problem, tons of Japanese text in these games (unlike the NGPC).

I bought my Swancrystal 2 weeks ago for 80$ shipped including 2 games (One Piece Colosseum -good fighting game- and One Piece Treasure Battles -kind of pokemon with japanese text-). Wonderswan Color is cheaper, but certainly worst.

I paid more for JSS than for the system itself with the two games.

But man... JSS Rocks!
