Oh my god, guys.
Mixing is complete on the new Load Records release. This 8 song album is slated for Spring '08. Need some rock in your life? Help is on the way.
First Six Finger Satellite album in 10 years. Wasn't expecting that... Kind of worrying that John Maclean is not in the band.

I saw that they had a new myspace with new songs a few weeks ago (didn't I post that) but I didn't think they'd go anywhere with it, great news

Still haven't found any opal but I got a few new Jam records

Your brain is not werking, Neon. I'm not sure any song on that page is new. If that one at the top is new I'll be disappointed. It sounds like old Six Finger Satellite at their most deliberately weird. I also ignore anything about myspace pages, only happened upon this by happy accident.

Also found this bit of an old thread which blew my mind. Imagine your favorite "rock stars" posting on some little phpbb about... I can't even think of something worthy. I think The Inventor likes Law of Ruins as much as me. The first person ever!

Some favorites yesterday, a day spent listening to annoyingly pleasant classical and saved by:

Coates -String Quartet no. 5
Sofia Gubaidulina - Music for Flute, Strings, and Percussion

How good is that one compared to their first three albums?
I kind of lost interest after my heavy disappointment in their self-titled album.

I discovered El-P pretty recently, love that album! [El-P - Flyentology]

I'm a fan of wildly varying genres... Leaning slightly towards metal atm:
- Brokeback - Field Recordings from Cook County Water Table [ambient/jazz]
- Isis - Oceanic [post-metal]
- Ayreon - Universal Migrator Part 1: The Dream Sequencer [progressive metal]
- Behemoth - Demigod [death metal]

Dave Gahan - Hourglass

unsane: flyentolgy is imo one of the weaker tracks on the album and its great so if you have not got the album its worth a purchase!

Prompted me to go looking for Fantastic Damage, but i don't really like that album apart from a song or 2 (Stepfather Factory is so good!)

^Guys, Company Flow was the best. The ensuing solo stuff... not as much, in my opinion. But hey, whatever ya dig, ya dig, am I right? Eh...*shrugs*

*Looks in pile*

Hank Mobley - No Room For Squares
Thelonious Monk Quartet Plus Two - ...At The Blackhawk
Teengenerate - Savage!!!
The Hipshakes - Shake Their Hips
V/A - Skampler
V/A - Pathological Compilation

Company Flow's Funcrusher Plus is good stuff. As far as El-P his best stuff was the production he did on Cannibal Ox's Cold Vein, he's not much of a rapper.

Yeah, El-P used all his best beats on Cannibal Ox, then they split, Vast Aire's solo album was boring and predictable, so it goes... that's not to discredit Fandam though, it's still a classic for me. Vast Aire has an excellent flow and presence when he's not recycling his lyrics.

It's not bad, probly the only song i like at all on there besides the aforementioned Stepfather Factory. Admittedly i may not have put in enough listens to that album, i gave up on it pretty quick. Maaaybe it'll eventually grow on me...
