Stool for shmupping!

Post by neorichieb1971 »

God, I never thought this would be such a long dwindling task. I am looking for a stool for useage with my candy cabinet. I am not aware of any group orders at the moment. Closest in the UK i've come to something I like is -

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do these stools have special names?

Thanks.

Id look for something with solid construction. It's never good to have a loose stool when playing. I find it quite distracting to play when my primary focus is the stool I'm sitting on. I'd suggest getting different samples to try. These stool samples will let you determine the one that is best for your body type. Have you considered passing stools completely and trying something else?
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Passing stools...LOL.

Hey Neo, have you tried looking at these IKEA stools?

$5.99 at perfect height for cabs. I've tried them at Dave's meets, and they really take my mind off my ass.

Cheers for that, found the UK version here -

The only problem with a stool like that is that i'm in a tight space and these things don't collapse when not in use. I think what i'll do since they are only £2.99 is buy a couple anyway. If I don't use them its no big deal. When I had my old cabs I put the stools on top of the cab upside down leaning against the back wall, but I can't even do that since I have something already above the cabinet position.

i have these at home http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90070404

same height as the stools (they take about the same space folded out aswell) shown previously but these fold up, its also nice to have a backrest so you can lounge back and shout curse words when its not going too well..

You can scour this planet for stools, loose or otherwise, but the best ones are found in a tunnel deep inside Uranus.

Just kidding, The stools I use have backs on them (just a simple curved bar), and I think that's important. I never use the backless ones anymore.

The ones I bought at Ikea were called "Forby" (or something close to that) at $4.99. I guess they discontinued them, and replaced with these "Fritiof" ones at a dollar more. Still not bad for on the cheap.

Another vote for Ikea furniture. I actually got a small chair for my New Astro. It was in the same section as the stools and I think it was $19.99.

Hmm. Maybe they charged a dollar more for adding the extra letters to the new name. The stool appears to look exactly the same as the ones you have.
