There should be a board-wide standard max. Not 10 though. 20-30 maybe. Some threads have 75 names and half of the scores are of people that played game X for one day.and yeah, it's top 10 only. it's like cave-elitism, except it's about scores and not cardboard boxes.

Seconded. I think about 50 places is perfect, but 30 would do just as well. Having only 10 places for such a popular game is crazy. Still, I can only get up to 1-4 on my 1st credit so I doubt i'd get in anyway ):GaijinPunch wrote:There should be a board-wide standard max. Not 10 though. 20-30 maybe. True, while there are people that post their score just to post it, I still think that it is better to allow them to have their score shown no matter how crappy the score. Some people just do not have the talent of the more elite players, and are still proud of their small victories. This board should welcome every body IMO. I mean, if you want to be elite, why not just post your scores on some Japanese boards and go for the WR? I thought we were supposed to be more accepting than the japaneses gang that supposedly bashes western players.GaijinPunch wrote:There should be a board-wide standard max. Not 10 though. 20-30 maybe. agreed, and that's why i changed it. not only does it require some practice to get on the table, but it motivates players who are on the table to keep playing, and players who've been knocked off will have a set target to aim for to get back on the table (ie ELF and shalashaska etc). so basically it *keeps* players playing, and makes things competitive.elfhentaifan wrote:in this case i am FOR a 10 places scoreboard.
Mainly for the reason that people cant post nub scores and have to train a bit in order to appear in this chart.
BUT you are even much happier if you reached the chart, even if its "just" place 10.

This would be completely stupid though, and hard to keep up with. I don't know how many people are playing this now, so you might've missed the boat (in which case 10 is good). I somehow think if you up it to 20, there's still going to be quite a few that don't make it.Ayanami wrote:If it wouldn't be frowned upon, I could make a score board for spots 11th onward. Could call it the "Nub Dodonpachi Daioujou thread."
The ESPRade, ESPGaluda, and Mushi boards need to be trimmed.

folks i am back !!
Harder, better, faster, stronger!
ELF - 125.374.390 - 2099 - Stage 4 - A-E

As soon as i reached stage 5 (died on this run, plus in some others at stage 4 boss) it´ll be no problem to take a place on the scoreboards.
Started yesterday, learned the nesseccairy new strats and it works all fine, far easier than i thought.
Note: Now I only play Tate when playing doj, this may cause the fast boost back to my skills

opened up to a top 20.
now bring it on
edit: i think you read too much into that comment. i just resent people who spend more time obsessing over carboard boxes than actually playing the games inside them. what i mean is to have a cut-off point as a way of motivating people.
