Remapping buttons on a Gamecube Hori arcade stick

Post by Skyline »

Just got a hold of a Soul Calibur II stikkey for the GC, mostly for VC stuffs and GBA player, however the button layout leaves much to be desired. So, is it possible to rewire the buttons to create a different layout?

I guess you can go ahead and apply this question to any stick where buttons are mounted directly on the PCB as well.

Should be possible, but it will involve using a knife to cut the traces around the legs of the buttons where they are soldered in. Just cut a square around the live legs (you should be OK leaving the ground legs intact) and use small pieces of wire to "swap" the live lines around.
