i am looking for someone who could provide me with some shmup-sounds (e.g. shoots, bombs, short anouncements, etc.) from more recent shooters for using as system-sounds on my computer (email-notification &stuff)
i understand that i could get these myself by using Mame - but unfortunaly my computer is only able to run games issued till '87 and i want more modern sounds
to make things clear: i do not look for game-soundtracks/-music but only for really short ingame-sounds
and considering the potential copyright-problem: isn't it at last legal for me to use the sounds of games that i own an original dc-copy of?
shmup sound .wavs wanted

I forget the name of the program, but back in 2000 or so I used a little PC application to rip the music out of my Playstation R-Types disc. From then you could crop it down to nice little sound bites if needed. If you were intrepid enough you could do this yourself.
I hope mentioning this isn't against the rules. I couldn't find any indication it was. But then again, I couldn't find the rules. :/
