These are the grey japanese ones. I have a few questions :
1. Are they any good
2. how much do they store
and
3. are they suitable for long term data storage?
Saturn RAM memory carts HS-0111
1. Yes, they're great and reliable. The only issue might be if you've been using a 4-in-1, in which case your memory card slot has probably been bent enough that it won't consistently recognize the cart.
2. Over 16 times the system memory (8190 blocks compared to 510); more than you'll likely ever need.
3. Yes, they use ROM-based memory (not powered by a battery like the SCD Backup RAM Cart). Certain blocks will probably be unsavable after maybe 20 yeras of normal use but the data integrity of already stored information is estimated somewhere around 50-100 years.

I don't know about that. The 4 in 1 Plus Auto I got from Play-Asia has a smaller board than the official jp 4m cart (edit, just compared and I'm certain. The cart I have is the gray JP one with clear plastic too). I wouldn't be surprised if earlier versions of the Action Replay did have a bigger board, though. The menus are the same as the Gameshark, which has a fat board with sharp edges.Ganelon wrote:The only issue might be if you've been using a 4-in-1, in which case your memory card slot has probably been bent enough that it won't consistently recognize the cart.
