Is Mushihimesama worth buying?
I've always been put off by this game because I hear it's a bit of a standard Cave game(not one of their better ones), and is sort of a slightly different version of DoDonPachi.
However, i'm getting pretty hungry for something NEW, that I haven't played and am thinking about getting it.
Is it fun? Worth buying? Or should I save my money and pick up some Double U albums instead?(just kidding!)

It's damn good, though you won't get the whole story if you havn't played 1&2...unless you pick up the Legendary edition and watch the cutscenes.evil_ash_xero wrote:Actually, i'm sorta interested in Halo 3. I've never played a single one!

As for Mushi...yes. Lots of modes should keep you entertained. The PS2 port is ugly, however. It's Cave, so you know what you're getting into.

Don't let the port nazis fool you. It's not that bad if you don't have the actual arcade machine to compare it to.

I like it. Only Cave game I've really gotten into. Also, like you, it was my first Cave experience. Just have the ability to Tate, cause yoko graphics are ...hard. Very colourful game.

For the limited number of Cave ports on PS2, its worth owning. But honestly, its not one of Cave's best. It all comes down to memorizing joystick taps to squeak by dense or insanely fast bullet patterns. Scoring depth is only as deep as the rate at which you mash the fire buttons (or cheat with various autofire configurations). Some people really like that shit, and I'm not one of them.

Technically you chain hits on enemies =P
Is it considered auto-fire or non-default to set up ... I don't remember the name of the button, but it's the button that let's you fire like you're holding the shot down, but it doesn't focus your options or slow you down. It isn't affected by the rapid fire settings, but it also isn't assigned to a key by default on the PS2 version.

Yeah, but that's not how you really score in the game. You score by hitting the right buttons in the right sections at the right frequencies while maintaining a chain. It requires a great deal of skill and precision, and nothing else like it has ever been done.Arvandor wrote:Technically you chain hits on enemies =P

How does button tapping work in Mars matrix? In Mushi you need to tap two buttons and their rhythm & frequency vary based on the enemy type and status of your counters.Rob wrote:This could just as easily describe 1 button Mars Matrix. You score by hitting the right buttons in the right sections at the right frequencies while maintaining a chain.
