Interesting BG...part outer space, part clouds, part tiles? Hmm.

The "regular" shots might look more convincing if they were in a straighter line: the "static-y" look of the laser is kind of interesting, I'd like to see how it'd look animated, truth be told. The ship sprite looks fine to me, but it's definitely too big to look like a real shmup. Neat effort though, not sure I've seen anyone else on here create fake shmup screens just for the heck of it, heh heh.

LOL These are great! I can tell you're having a lot of fun making 'em! I like the funky weapon system in the last pic. The options seem to be auto-locking onto the Tengu mask enemies. That's so cool. :o

That's some cool stuff dude. Do you think you could try a fantasy shmup with a dragon as the player?

You know, I've been working on a shmup for a while, fully 2D but done with 3D graphics so it runs nice and fast. It's got some problems, but it supports horizontal and vertical scrolling, collision detection with enemies, scrolling backgrounds, tons of bullets, etc.

I'd be mighty interested in possibly having some help with the artwork sometime, as you seem quite skilled.

Something to keep in mind, anyway, if you want to see your artwork "come to life" :)

Err, I don't see the ship dodging that sprite pattern with such a huge sprite... but otherwise, great work!
