Sony PSOne Gamepad

Post by SAM »

Since I failed and break the pcb of the a 3rd party PS gamepad during soldering while trying to use it within my the twin sticks I am currently building.

So I go and try to find some a few of those cheap ass 3rd party PS gamepad to gut, but I find that they are no longer available at the game stores.... :?

So I bought some used Sony PSOne gamepads instead. When I gone home and open them, I found a very familar PCB inside, yes, that cheap ass 3rd party PS gamepad's PCB I used in most of my game controller conversion....

Turn around the gamepad, it said "made in China".... So that cheap ass producer of 3rd party PS gamepad got a contract from Sony and start producing the same cheap ass gamepad in Sony brand...

No wonder I could no longer find that brand of cheap ass 3rd party PS gamepad...
*Meow* I am as serious as a cat could possible be. *Meow*

Makes me think of Macronix... I've been told that they used to make unlicensed NES/Famicom ROMs (they even got a patent on a method for disabling the NES lockout chip; this part I saw for myself). These days they co-own a fabrication plant with Nintendo and make tons of stuff for them. :)
