Before I tear into it, does anyone know if there is a "most" common problem with these NSC monitors?
Just before it went out it was showing some warping of the display around the right side (set-uo vertically)....

When it powers on do you get the high voltage sound "ka-chink" ?Dragon1952 wrote:Before I tear into it, does anyone know if there is a "most" common problem with these NSC monitors?

Sounds like your high voltage is broken.Dragon1952 wrote:No to the first one, haven't again powered it up since it went out. Will test that and get back to you.

Look at the chassi board for burn marks or burned fuses.
What kind of monitor is inside this cab ? Std-Res, TriSync ? Brand ?
You just might need a new flyback (LOPT) transformers or in the
worst case a new chassi.
Might be an idea to post this at the KillerCabs forum as well.

Okay, hope this can help someone hwlp me figure out what I need to do to het this fully operational again:
01. No "ka-clink" sound at power up.
02. No static electricity on the CRT tube at all.
03. PCB is running as the +5v are not affected...
04. Lighted marque for header at the top powers on.
05. Checked all molex-type connectors and all wired connections otherwise.
06. Cleaned the monitor adjustments board under the control panel of some contaminations.
05. Can't find a specific "isolation transformer" that would power the CRT.
06. Apparently, the monitor just won't power-up!
Thanks in advance....!
