My Raiden DX board won't accept input from my Egret II

Post by Ozymandiaz1260 »

It works fine on my supergun, and all of my other boards work fine in my cabinet, just not RDX. I plug it in and get video and sound, but I can't insert credits or get to the test menu... any ideas on what's wrong with it?

does the pcb have both grounds at the edge of it's connector connected with a trace like they're supposed to be? Tabs "JAMMA 27/28" are both redundant grounds, but sometimes the harness only has ground on 28. If, for some reason, the pcb needed a ground on 27, than none of the buttons would work with that harness. Check the supergun harness to see if has ground wires running to both 27 and 28 (the last two).

just a guess :?

How would I fix that? Can I just bridge the two tabs?

If that is the problem bridging the tabs on the harness side will rectify your problem.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

you could even just touch a paper clip to the two tabs while adding credits to test. just in case, it's the two tabs at the farthest end from the key- there should be a black wire (or two) followed by a space (or two) and then all the wires for the buttons and joystick. And those two tabs are connected with a trace already.

report back if it works, I can't wait to see if that's it, plus really can't think what else it would be.

I'll try it tonight when I get off of work and let you know. I also have an Altered Beast board with a ghetto home made JAMMA converter with the same problem, so I'm guessing that's probably whats wrong with it.
