"Twinbee" anyone?
When talking about Konami's shmups, we usually talk about Gradius & Parodius, but then there are still a very famous Konami's shmups series: Twinbee. There are not even a Twinbee ST/GD at Strategy Section or any High Scores Thread... Are there really a general lack of interest in Twinbee?
As far as I know there are more than 10 Twinbee games out there. I myself only have played 3 of them. Namely...
NES Twinbee (the first one)
The two games in PS/SS Twinbee Deluxe Pack
What's the others? Which are good? Which are bad? Are there any Twinbee game coming on Virtual Console?

3 SNES ones
Twinbee Da! Gameboy
Twinbee arcade
Detana Twinbee arcade
Pop N Twinbee SFC
Twinbee Yahho! arcade (arcade ones have the PSP port, and the original has a few ports, NES, and MSX come to mind)
Twinbee Puzzle Dama
Twinbee RPG
I doubt that's all there is, but Twinbee has seen enough ports over the years.

There's a good overview of the series at HG101. It was written by one of our forum members, I believe, though since he uses his real name in the article I won't "out" him. And it's been pointed out that Twinbee Da!! (which has since had a PSP remake for Twinbee Portable) isn't just a port of the original.
I've played Da on GBC and Pop'n Twinbee on SNES. They're nice, relaxing games, and the bombing reminds me of good old Xevious. I want to try the arcade games too, especially Yahho; it looks gorgeous.

Not nearly as many as you imply, alas ^_^;Twiddle wrote:We know Turrican writes much of the articles there.
That Twinbee article was written four-hands with Kurt, and it would need a revamp here and there; anyway for all the fans of Twinbee Da! out there I warmly recommend the PSP update, which stays true to the original source while adding a little manicness to boss fights. Quite sweet!

Twinbee Yahhoo got a bum rap becuase of the tournament. It's not a bad game at all, IMO. The levels are very well designed. I found the gravity sections (the bullet patterns were designed around them) to be a nice change of pace.SAM wrote:Twinbee Yahho! is bad?! Cats are easy with the Detana style charge and the bomb charge.viniciusvbf wrote:Those cats in stage 4 are really fun. How the heck is Twinbee Yahoo! bad? The saturn collection is still spinning nowadays
I think the weakest of them all is simply the first one, just because of the tiny bullets. Heck, I even like Rainbow Bell Adventures a bloody lot, despite the disappointing 69 from SuperPlay.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...
Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?
