Could you post a full sized version of that pic?
Is it from an anime or game?
You can download it at the JP Cave website, someone posted a link here a while back.
Thanks but from what game is it from?

For Taresk,

A port of Ketsui was planned for the PS2 console but developer wanted to develop a perfect version of Ketsui running on that particular platform and ran into some problems with a certain stage (among the usual list of problems, one is that PS2 doesn't have much memory aside from the usual 32mb of RAM to work with). So general consensus was not to release it because of that problem. As of right now, the only way to play such a Ketsui gaming session is to pick up a Ketsui PCB & play it on a full-sized Japanese arcade cabinet or a Supergun setup. Just be prepared to "bite the bullet & pay through the nose" for one, though... ^_~

22nd October, 2007

http://www.mameworld.net/gurudumps/

Just finished dumping Hot Gimmick Integral. I think it took about 6 or 8 hours! Luckily there's no more of these games on PS4 hardware. You may want to slow-mo the attract mode. There's some, err, very i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g movements on some body parts that are worth a second look :-D

Oh, I forgot to mention, a couple of days ago I received a Ketsui PCB too. I think the sender wanted to remain anonymous, so I'll just says thanks to the people that collected the bucks to buy it. I'll take good care of it, I promise :-D

Ketsui's protection is going to be difficult to emulate, so you're probably right, Kaiser:

So Ketsui is about to be dumped then? Well done!

This certainly wouldn't have happened anytime soon if you hadn't collected for it. I wonder if this will mark the beginning of the end of the crazy Ketsui PCB prices...

I guess now you'll have to start collecting money to pay a hacker to crack the protection :D

I wasn't talking to you, I meant the people who participated in "The Dump Ever", like pixelcorps. And could you please shorten your above link?

Haze wrote:it's pgm based. it uses a protection device, with no external rom, and thus pretty much no chance of it being trojaned (for proper emulation of the protection device, not simulation). Also the later pgm caves have execute only internal roms, so even if you do manage to get code running on them you *can't* dump them.

IOW, don't expect it running in MAME anytime soon. It might just require a decap, but as we don't even know if those things are mask / eeprom (I suspect eeprom, and custom part so we can't read them even if we erase protect bits) not even that is really an option.

so yeah, it looks nice.. cave shooters always do, but properly emulated, soon, No.
LOL.

The Guru wrote:the game is actually not that great IMO. I personally like the s1945-series better. Its just your typical Japanese bullets-everywhere vertical shooter, nothing special. I don't know what all the fuss is about. I personally would not buy it even if I had the money just lying around.
BTW, what is this worth? I heard it's rare or something?

Sorry for the bump!

Was there ever a follow up to this? I guess if Arika have since found a way to release it they would announce it at the Cave fest?

Also, I don't understand how emulating it as opposed to porting it could possibly reduce the memory requirements. Can anyone explain?
