I thought Space bomber was fun BTW !

My top three are
1)Gunbird 2 ( I thought is was going to be like the first one, boy was I wrong)
2)Dragon Blaze
3)Strikers 1945 Plus

Strikers 1945 I and II are medium (but the first Strikers is more towards easy than medium). Sengoku Blade is Medium, and the first Gunbird is a little easy.
I'll have to agree with Fighter17 on his opinion about the "Strikers 1999/Strikers 1945 III" PCB...so very true that's it's a bitch. Can you tame it's ass so it won't bite you on the balls, though? ^_~

Are you using a genuine PCB ? I'm asking because the first PCB I got was ridiculously hard (on normal setting) ; the speed and timing of the bullets were messed up.I turned out ths was a bootleg.
Since then I bought an original PCB and the game is much more easier. Sengoku blade gets my vote for one of the hardest psikyo game.

For yojo!,

Yes, I'm using a Strikers 1999 PCB with the Psikyo name printed on the PCB itself and has the "Made In Japan" phrase. So yes, it's a genuine one alrighty... ^_~

It's not even one of my fav shmups from Psikyo, but there's an arcade in a mall I usually go that has it on a real big screen, so I couldn't help putting a few credits there every time I got there... there are some sick scores there (The lowest hi-score there is a 2-4 score), and I even played some 2-players games with a couple of guys there sometimes (unfortunately none of the "I can loop it" guys, but I've seen a guy playing there looping the game once)
It could be this dude: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Trv28s1OICA

Or this dude: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP2DCUXxl5g

Dragon Blaze gets my vote. I don't like the game much either.

After hearing so much about Dragon Blaze, had to go and try it.

And I say, 1945+ (or whatever the hell it's called) is waaaaaaayyyyyyy harder.

Im actually not having TOO much trouble with Blaze; and I'd be getting farther IF MY DAMN CAT WOULD GO THE HECK AWAY AND STOP BOTHERING ME.

My idiot parents dont pay ANY attention to them when Im not here, so the cats wont leave me alone when I AM here......

I hate trying to do gaming at this particular house.

When it is time for serious shmupping I make sure my cat is outside or at least busy eating. Otherwise he is apt to attack my shirt or wipe his nose on my arm.

Dragon Blaze does seem difficult. And I too, don't like it much. The dragon shot seems like a more annoying piercing cannon from Mars Matrix, but you have to recall the dragon... aaaargghh. And you pick a fast character to make good use of the dragon shot, but then he's too fast to weave between the boss' bullets. The random level order is even more annoying here than in other Psikyo games. Learning the game takes so much longer.

Being able to leave the dragon out makes the shot great. If it was just a close range attack, yeah, it'd be like the piercing cannon.

Leaving the dragon by itself is useful once in a while, but the Dragon Shot's so powerful overall that it almost makes all the other weapons obsolete, especially because of the scoring and technical bonuses. I do like the game, but most of the time you'll either know where an enemy is going to appear and slaughter it instantly with the DS, or face a super-fast spread of bullets you'll be lucky to survive.

It's a useful strategy for coin collection throughout the game.

In certain parts of later stages (later as in 1-4 or so -_^), I like to fire the dragon at a big enemy in the corner, leave him there while I weave to the other side of the screen, taking out popcorn enemies, then I recall him and on his way back he'll take out a bunch of popcorn enemies (greatly reducing the number of bullets on the screen), and more often than not, when he gets back to me, there's a nice beefy target ready to be splattered by the Dragon Shot.

I WILL agree that the Dragon Shot is a bit too useful in comparison to everything else, but the game is so fun it doesn't matter. It's like saying switching colors is too good in Ikaruga or something =P

It took me longer then I'm willing to admit to figure that out.

Also, you'll end up using the dragon shot a lot less in Stages 1-5 through 1-7. It just becomes WAY too dangerous at parts. Anyone who thinks the Dragon Shot is overpowered hasn't played far enough into the game -_^

It's exactly as powerful as it needs to be.

I get chicken w/ the dragon shot a bit towards the end, but it's pretty constant (1-4 can also be tough).

That's what I was trying to get at ^_^ It's like the shield in Mars Matrix. Exactly as useful as it needs to be.
