Free Downloadables?

Post by Lili-Xiang »

would it be possable to request them or add some already-found ones?
Just asking because I'm a noob-girl who loves scrolling shooters. I found
three recently for PC, one is a demo and two others are freeware.

Shoot the Core has lots of fan-made games, many of which are free or at lest have a free demo. And if you know how to use emulators, there are hundreds of classics you can play in MAME or other emus.

feel so much of a chickenwuss I am.

There are tons of freeware shooters, but few are good.

The best (in my opinion):
Everything by ABA games.
Everything by Dark hell Company.
Spark Spectra
Cho ren sha 68k
Grid wars (banned game, so no link here)
Warning forever

I want Soldier Force

But I can't find anything about it on the page it says to get the game from. Was it taken down? Is there anywhere else I can get it?

Where'd you get the idea it's free? It's a commercial doujin, and apparently sold out in both Himeya and Paletweb. I used to have two copies, but I gave the other one away some time ago...
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

-snip- has a LOT of Doujin shooters. I'm not sure if it's legal though, since all the games on there are full versions.

MOD EDIT - removed link with copyrighted software - Shatterhand

Tyrian 2000 is an update of the original Tyrian by Epic Megagames. It's not very difficult, but it's loads of fun. The game was released as freeware by it's author. Here is a link to a Tyrian fansite with great info & a download of the full version.

http://members.iinet.net.au/~vannevar@i ... au/tyrian/

Also, welcome to the forum!

Not like it can't still be downloaded from everywhere.

5.4 is the last version made for those curious.

And if you like your arena shooter with an extra dose of asteroids...

Edit: Ooops, forgot the part about the scrolling. Sorry. Anyway, still a cool game :)

I agree it's not very difficult, but one can go for 100% casualties and secrets at the highest difficulty and speed settings.
Personally I prefer to challenge myself with ineffective and/or weakened weapons.

ABA games are full of awesome.

...And the highscore boards are a little stagnant so help liven them up.
